What should be the USDM '04 WRX and WRX STi (261hp/253lb-ft)...
Photos (STi)
Photos (Both)
and More Photos
Compared with...
Current '02-'03 Car
BTW, the reason for the early restyling appears to be poor sales in countries OUTSIDE of the US. It's still a hot item here.

Slight improvement, nothing to shout about. Headlights are still too big for a car its size... and I believe it was a mistake to make the mail slot hood scoop even more aggressive. Thanks for posting the info.

Which all begs the question, would you sacrifice looks for a car that was a blast once you got inside? If the next Camaro comes back as less than we'd hoped for in the looks dept (think '02 Bel Air attempt at retro), but perfromed better than the last 4th gen LS1s, would you buy one?

But regarding your question....there isn't enough horsepower in the world to make me buy an ugly Camaro, especially one that looks like the Bel Air concept.
Kinda sad really. such a nice power train in such and ugly car. Imagine if the Aztek had an LS1 and AWD. Why dosn't GM take this platform and put a nice body on it? Don't they own like 50% of Subaru?

The redesigned Caprice was hammered badly in the press, the media & with enthusiasts when it came out. The words "bloted", "Shamu", and "fat" were the ones I think were most frequently used. But add black paint, different grill & windo trim, and a Corvette engine, then suddenly not only is this THE gotta have it car, but everyone forgets that the Impala name spent most of it's history as a mid-grade family car, and in it's last interation was a fleet car sold to goverment agencies.

Wasn't the Caprice Motor Trend's car of the year when it came out though? I can't see them bashing it THAT much if such praise was given to it...
As for that WRX....nice boy racer wing on the back. Im sure the ricers will be oogling over this piece.

The car is uummmmm ok looking I guess, but htat's what I thought of the LS1's. I'm almost used to them.
My only complaint about the WRX is that the still have that intercooler on top of the motor it seems. Even Suburu doesn't think it's the best place for it. Think I'm wrong? Check out the speed channel on sundays(rally race day). All of the WRX's that run have front mounts. The US and the *** versions both run front mounts.
