It's Official: 2011 Ford Mustang GT has 5.0-liter V8
And the engine itself doesn't look to terribly big since you can see the frame rails on either side. I wonder what the dressed weight of the engine is? I've been told an unsubstantiated 500+ pounds. Hopefully Ford will see fit to release dimenison and weight figures for the engine.
I can only use the BMW 4.0L V8 M3 engine as a yardstick... that engine still weighs some 50kg (110lbs) more than the LS3 even if power is 'comparable'.
Will be interesting to see the engine in all its glory.
Is it finally time to run the Gen V LSx through some cosmetic finishing school classes? Reposition the coils, get some nicer looking valve covers, do some general detailing - and maybe then you could the dump that STUPIDO 'beauty cover".
That GT looks fine to me.
I just checked some out at the dealership the other day. Not buying new any time soon (and CERTAINLY not a 2010 Mustang when the 2011 gets 100 more hp and another gear in the gearbox,
). Red GT convertible with 5 speed auto, shaker sound, and premium wheels was $41K.
That's why I buy used.

Very nice.
