So your saying that NO 2010 Camaros or Mustangs will actually be made in 2010? Are you high? You know we are still in 2009 right?

Agreed.
Not only that. I bet the 30mpg rating seals the deal more than 305HP. 305HP out of a V6 is nice, but I don't think it would improve sales if it was rated at 25mpg.

Using a tilt table to test oil system performance is fairly common in the industry.

Note that the article states that 1g is equivalent to rotating the engine 90 degrees. This is incorrect. 1g is equivalent to rotating the engine 45 degrees.

I'm not sure on Camaro, but it looks like very few 2010 Mustangs will be built in 2010.

The 2010 Mustang order bank is already closed and the 2011 order bank opens Jan 18. 2011 Mustang Job 1 is scheduled for March 15 and I'd assume they'll have to make some updates to the line before the 2011s start rolling.

I'm pretty sure that '10 Mustang production ended earlier this month.

05FordGT - a Ford salesman who's a regular over at the Mustang Source posted on the 14th that 2010 Mustang orders had to be serialized by the 17th -

http://forums.themustangsource.com/s...d.php?t=478877

And there are a couple of members there who had orders pulled last Friday (12/18) for production.

So I think they're still running for a little while yet.

Are you aware that the current Camaro is a 2010 model year car, and as has been mentioned the 2010 Mustang ordering is done or about to end.

You are about to enter the 2011 model year, as you may have noticed by the subject being the 2011 Mustang (which will enter production in early 2010).

And, yes... we are still in 2009.

Any questions?

Personally, I think the 2011 Mustang looks a lot better than the previous model yr design. I know its suggestive but I still don't like the interior. Probably my biggest dislike of 05+ mustangs is the interior.

Yes they ...Have had...as in don't need.
Looks like you created a list of all potentially great things GM F'd up.
Just about every car you named could have a strong case made that the use of dohc v8 over pushrod v8 has hindered those model sales.
In my opinion, GM should "do GM", and do it well. Not try to do Toyota..Honda..or Ford..etc.

As much as I hate to say it, I love the styling changes on the 2010 Mustang. With the 2011 just around the corner, and local Chevy dealers still marking up Camaros big time, I'm seriously thinking of jumping ship... or perhaps even getting out of the "ponycar" scene altogether.

FWIW, I was off last week and finally got around to getting my 67 Camaro running again. I finally remembered why I don't drive it much anymore... its a PITA and rides real rough compare to a newer car. I am getting older, perhaps its time for a big old Cadillac.

At least it looks like your starting to get it. Why would we compare only a partial 2010 Camaro to a partial 2010 Mustang for sales? Its not like the 2011 Camaro debuts jan 1st. The end of the model year is when they STOP production of that year vehicle, not order banks opening or closing, or when your crystal ball is telling you that the new year is starting. None that matters except when the 2010 stops rolling off the line.

Its not hard to see what I am saying, stop trying to inflate the Mustang numbers.

Simply because the 4.6L is not 4v/cyl, not DOHC and not all alloy... like the Coyote 5L V8. Therefore, the obvious comparison to the M3 powerplant.

Uh....if you go back to 2004, the 4.6 was available as a 4v/cyl, DOHC, and all alloy. That is likely what Guy was referring too.

And Guy....you do need to quit, uh, inflating those numbers. Before long, we'll be calling you a Mustang nutswinger!

The 4.6 is aluminum. According to one of the docs, the new 5.0 weighs 10 pounds more than the 4.6-3v
