Agreed. I would surely hope that a brand new 05 car would have better quality and ergonomics than a chassis that debuted in 1993.

Re: Them are some might thick GM goggles...

Alright, I appologize if I'm restating what someone else said, frankly I got to the 3rd page and was so fed up with the pessimistic posts that I had to reply.

First off, to those going on and on about keep the faith, amen to you all. You're the ones that are going to be happy when GM does come out with the Camaro in 2007/2008.

To you guys that are beating the wrong horse and saying that the Camaro / F-Body is never coming back, sorry, but you're wrong. Plain and simple, stop ruining others hopes.

Case in point, there's too many mentionings of Camaro all the sudden. Why? Because it really is in the works. From the famous cleveland_e.pdf file that gave the platform and estimated amount of cars the company plans to make (Btw, this is a publicy accessible file at a Canadian trade website, so considering it "classified" information is just outright wrong), in my opinion the fact that a company has been scheduled to start making the parts should be confirmation enough, but to others there's this underlying need for more... I'm not really understanding it. As second evidence, again I'm sorry if I'm reposting what others have already posted, http://www.projectcamaro.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=1364 has a nice article all about the possibilities and options of the 2007 Camaro, even stating that the SS will be the higher performance package than the Z28.

Stop being such negative bastards and just sit back and relax, GM has heard our roar and they are infact reacting but as others have said, they CAN NOT talk about it and they will do EVERYTHING THEY CAN to smoke screen us. The more we pry, the more we jeopardize information and people's jobs, so they're trying to get us off the trail so we'll be all happilly surprised.

What part of this statement did you not understand?

I'd love to add at this point for all you Camaro fans that I'm using the blog to announce the rebirth of the F-bodies ... but I'm afraid that would be tantamount to yet another Internet hoax. Sorry.
So many of are saying that the Vice Chairman of GM North America is obviously full of crap, and that the Camaro project is SO SECRET that not even he knows about it? LOL!!

He's just trying to throw us off the trail. Personally, I read it more so as that if he said it people would take it as just a hoax, but guess it's just in the eye of the reader. There's enough evidence saying that the Camaro is in the works to make me believe, and I think that if there are millions of people around the world having a belief in a religion just because there's a book that sounds more like a fantasy book than this, and yet so many people can believe in that, confuses me why people can't just have their faith in this.

Re: Them are some might thick GM goggles...

For me it doesn't really matter anymore. I have 35 years of past Camaros' to enjoy, buy used (alot cheaper than new) modify, restore, etc. etc.
If they do, they do. That'd be great. If Chevrolet doesn't deem it necessary then that's their decision. When I look for a new car, I'll buy what I like best, not bitch about what isn't being made.
Like I've said here before; Brand loyalty is only good for the brand. Make sure the brand is earning your loyalty. If they aren't, go elsewhere. That's the loudest statement you can make.

All he said is that hes not going to annouce the return of the Camaro using some internet blog, and this place goes into a frenzy.
Its an internet blog he is using to guage reaction to vehicles. I dont expect him to launch some super undercover launch program from some blog.
You people are looking way way way too deep into it.

Re: Bob Lutz talks about Camaro on his "blog".

Wow...I'm surprised that people took the statement to mean so many different things.

For me, when I read it, I took it to mean that he was just stating that he wasn't going to be using his blog to announce a 5th gen Camaro. That's it...

Either way, time will tell. There just seem to be too many hints of a new Camaro or Camaro-like car coming. Does everyone remember when he joked about the Camaro coming back in 30 years? Well, I took that with a grain of salt too. We'll see before too long....

For me it just sounds like he's saying, that since F-body fans are so loyal, he wishes he could make an announcement that would make us all happy. That's it, nothing more.

THANK YOU!!!!!

I know we're grasping at anything and everything and trying to parse out the meaning of the 50 words used around the word "Camaro" whenever it is spoken by a GM rep but c'mon...."I am not announcing in this blog the return of the Camaro....but we appreciate the enthusiasm that Camaro fans have".....THEY CAN'T SAY ANYTHING YET FOR LEGAL REASONS....what more needs to be said???????

Trying to throw us off the trail? What is this, some new guerilla business tactic I don't know about?

GM Suit 1: Hey there, we have all these loyal customers who love this car. They are begging us to buy one.
GM Suit 2: Well, we are making one, you know, this one over here.
GM Suit 1: Jesus man! Quiet about that! We don't want to tell anyone.
GM Suit 2: Why not? Our customers want to buy it, why not tell them it's available?
GM Suit 1: Good god man! You never tell customers that you're coming out with a product they want to buy! In fact, you tell them the exact opposite so they're surprised when it comes out.

GM King: You're a genius! PROMOTE THIS MAN!

Re: Bob Lutz talks about Camaro on his "blog".

GM is trying to attract enthuiasts back to the company with it's new array of cars - CTSv, STSv, C6 (Z06), Solstice, Sky, Cobalt SS, Redline, GXP cars, not push they away with underhanded comments. Lutz may shoot from the hip when he's talking, but as noted above this probably went though GM legal before it hit the web. I dont think they're being sneaky or under-handed, Lutz is just saying that he cant talk about the car now even though he wishes he could.

The article and pictures in that link are pretty outdated and go against alot of more recent things we've heard like the Z28 taking it's true place again. Don't believe almost anything completely until it's official in a few years or the source is RP or a real insider.

Obviously. Have you been hibernating for the past 2 or 3 years?
