I felt no need to respond to Lutz' blog. He wrote that he realizes that we all love the car and want it back, and he appreciates that. So no need for me to tell him that again. If GM is too stupid to realize how important the Camaro is at this point, they deserve to fail.

Bingo. He basically said, "Thanks, but **** off for now."

Thats not the way to stir excitement and interest in a brand, or nameplate.

You give people too much credit.

I'm finding out that more and more people can't read these days.

Sure..... The Vice Chairman, can't say anything. That's pretty funny considering he is known for speaking his mind and not caring what other think about it.

I've noticed you really think you know what you're talking about, and that's cool....but I can't believe you haven't heard about the little agreement with the CAW. Bob Lutz may often shoot from the hip but as an exec, he also knows he can't break a contract putting GM in trouble and the Camaro nameplate in serious jeopardy.....

Thanks Mark....some people think it's really simple...they think if they stomp their feet and throw a temper tantrum it'll make GM tell them all their secrets......

There IS a reason this is cloaked in so much secrecey.....but you'll just have to hold out a few more months.

Anything uttered before then is pure smokescreen.......

You forget that this is the same guy who SWORE up and down a few months ago that the ZO6 engine was WITHOUT A DOUBT going to be 6.4L.

Blathered on about how he supposedly knew somebody and we would all be shown to be very foolish for thinking the car will have a 7.0L.

I think it'd idiotic that something like a new Camaro is a secret to be kept. And what kind of management decision was it that allowed the company's 2nd biggest nameplate to be tied up in red tape by a seperate entity?

The more I see how GM is run as a company, the less I want to buy their cars. Then I look at their cars under $30k, and I really don't want to buy their cars.

I've noticed several of you guys who like to consider yourself "insiders" have developed a really bitchy attitude lately. It's like you get mad at people for believing what the chairman of GM says instead of what you say. Because you're some guy on the internet, and obviously you have more credibility.

Thanks to people like guionM who have actually retained their logic capacity and remained civil in conversations. Those of you who are resorting to childish personal attacks when your "insider information" is taken with skepticism, grow up.

Ever stop to think that it might not all be about the Camaro, but other issues too?

There are alot of dense people here.

Lets put it simple: If GM confirms a Camaro before that contract no longer has power over them, there will be alot of trouble for GM and the Camaro.

It was a decision by management no longer at GM. That's a good thing.

Believe me, I'm no insider.....but it doesn't take an insider to simply pay attention to those a little more "in the know" (heck, those that have researched the situation and found the sticky points with the CAW which are freely available to the public!) It has been common knowledge on this board for what, a year now?....that the name 'Camaro' cannot be revived until the CAW contract terminates....and that if GM knows what's best for them and the nameplate itself, they'll refrain from speaking openly about a return.

So when exactly does this contract terminate? Anybody know?
