Wow...this site has me upset...again. I cant belive everyone here.
I thought this was such a great break in the silence of the C word, but to watch everyone's reaction is just amazing.
Just another reason why GM must NOT listen to enthusiasts when it comes to cars. None of us agree, but that is the nature of enthusiasts.
I think that this whole deal of Lutz being on line and talking with people is fantastic, even more so that he is who he is and how much power he has.
If you arent gunna buy one or arent gunna buy GM, who cares. Go spend your money on whatever else you want. Some have you have already done it, some of you will. Just put your money where your mouth is and buy whatever you want.

i want an 05.
ill need to wait it out after the greedy dealers start to move off sticker and i get some money together.
hopefully theyll offer a rebate eventually and GM will round up my GM card earnings.
i expect rassas and that dealer on 18 to get them instock.
theyd better be reasonable.

Be glad he hears us for now and keep up the positive reinforcement of our desire for it's return, as a real and proper Camaro anyway.

Just plain business. If he says a Camaro is coming right now then that would give Ford enough time to react and make their new mustang better and faster and whatever would be needed to compete or stop the Camaro in its tracks. But if GM waits till way, the year before it comes out, Ford wouldnt have much time to react unless they dont want to show off their concept before it hits the streets. Personally, when I look at "At the end of the day, that's what our business is all about - inspiring passion among the faithful. " I take it at him hinting at it, giving us something to have faith about. because they love inspiring our passion and what greater way than to bring back the car. Trust me they will talk about it when they can.
but I'm afraid that would be tantamount to yet another Internet hoax.
That means "Can't talk about it but it's there" to you?
Main Entry: 1hoax
Pronunciation: 'hOks
Function: transitive verb
Etymology: probably contraction of hocus
: to trick into believing or accepting as genuine something false and often preposterous
Main Entry: tan·ta·mount
Pronunciation: 'tan-t&-"maunt
Function: adjective
Etymology: obsolete tantamount, noun, equivalent, from Anglo-French tant amunter to amount to as much
: equivalent in value, significance, or effect
So, Bob Lutz says that if he said the Camaro was coming back, it would be equivalent in value, significance, or effect to tricking us into believing or accepting as genuine something false and often preposterous.
Falce and preposterous. I didn't choose the words Bob Lutz, the head of GM posted, I just read them. I read that Bob Lutz says "If I told you Camaro was coming back, it'd be a lie" because that's the direct interpretation of the plain english that Bob Lutz posted. A bunch of people jump down my throat because they have some conjecture that might conflict that. Believe what you want, but don't try to claim that Bob Lutz said anything different than he did.
Bob Lutz made a post in his blog that said him telling us Camaro is coming back would be a lie, and everyone here jumps on me for not keeping the faith? Yeah, ok.
This has nothing to do with enthusiasts not agreeing on what they want in a car. I'd love to see a new Camaro. It just looks more and more like it's really not going to happen. We'll all be driving Chevy GTOs. RWD V8s from Chevy? Yep, but even what the insiders are saying that even if Camaro does come back, it will not be Camaro as we know it now. A bigger car that many people wouldn't consider Camaro is what we're getting.
I'm not creating this information, I am just reading and commenting on it. Don't get mad at me.

when i was talking about people being overly negative i meant when people would say things like "Seems some can't grasp reality. NO Camaro is coming back, ever. I didn't say there would be no RWD V8 powered car from Chevy, I said Camaro." and "i can't agree anymore with this. Its just a matter of time when chevy will have a rwd v8 car in a descent price range. I can see GM calling it a camaro just to try to sell it by its name but i don't think it will meet up to everybodys standards due to the long wait for it returning. Face it.....LETS NOT GET OUR HOPES UP"
I mean if you people really are enthusiasts, how can u believe so strongly that the company that put out the car that you are in love with can absolutely NEVER do it again? It baffles me.
Re: Bob Lutz talks about Camaro on his "blog".
Some of you people are hilarious. You KNOW he's not saying ANYTHING conclusive YET and STILL the doubters (that don't pay attention) go crazy. Do you people realize that the statement he made was the most positive in message and recognition yet for the Camaro and it's enthusiasts outside of RP and the little hints we've had before by executives that always had to suspiciously retract what they said quickly?! They should always listen to enthusiasts, and that's what he's doing. There won't be any announcement for the car until it's time and both cars aren't coming back, so stop going crazy over this. We don't even know whether it'll be a "real Camaro" or not yet. The accusations are a little over the top. If you don't get it, read DH's post over and over again until you understand. I really hope the doubters are still here in a few years. I can't wait to see the changes of attitude.
About the Third Gen and 05 M*stang comparison. Stock for stock and driven good the 05 is faster without question vs. a good running L98 G92 car. But lets be honest, high 13's isn't that far from low 14's. Wouldn't cost much to catch or beat an all stock GT.

Ok....conflicting info here. Big Al says...
While IZ28 says...
So which one of you two is correct?
As for comparing an 05 Mustang to a Thirdgen F-body...that's hilarious, and not even worthy of serious comment.

But I do love the passion with which the Camaro faithful express their undying commitment to the object of their affections. Believe me, I've gotten enough email from you to know! At the end of the day, that's what our business is all about - inspiring passion among the faithful.

It may not be a typically comparison since these cars are about 13 years apart. But on paper, they aren't that far from each other..
