I think the whole idea of "Post in Bob Lutz's blog!" thing is a lost cause.

Basically he posted, "I realize you guys love the Camaro from all of your e-mails you write me. I wish I could say it's coming back, but I'd be lying. Thanks for buying our cars!"

It kind of amazes me that no one else is really disconcerted by the head of GM saying that it'd be a "hoax" if he said the Camaro was coming back.

I can't believe that some people on this board, of ALL places, STILL can't grasp the concept that Chevrolet / GM CANNOT discuss the return of a possible Camaro until a certian time.......and it isn't here yet!.

Lutz is probably the only one who can even utter the name without jeapordizing his job......and he's gonna' throw out smoke screens and dis-information until that time.....

Be glad he hears us for now and keep up the positive reinforcement of our desire for it's return, as a real and proper Camaro anyway.

Seems some can't grasp reality. NO Camaro is coming back, ever. I didn't say there would be no RWD V8 powered car from Chevy, I said Camaro.

Dear Mr. Lutz:

I'd love to say to you that I'm using this post to announce that I will be visiting a local GM dealer in september when I'll need a new car... but I'm afraid that would be tantamount to yet another Internet hoax. Sorry.

Have a great weekend.

He said "F-bodies" (Plural). We all know that the GTO has replaced the Firebird, so in a sense that is still an accurate statement, even if the Camaro does return as an "F-body" (Singular).

Chevy had better bring back the Camaro. A Trans Am would be nice too, but I doubt it'll ever happen.

As I said on the blog...they have a lot of nice new coupes but none of them can truly fill the void of the Camaro. The GTO and Vette are kind of pricey, the Solstice and Sky are too underpowered, the Monte Carlo SS is not spinning the right set of wheels...

If they could combine all these great qualities (including their improved interiors and build quality) into one car, they'd have such a winner...

To me what Lutz said was.... We have decided not to name the Chevy Zeta Coupe Camaro. Its just a name to the buying public. We will have once again a Chevy and Pontiac 2 door rwd V8 clones again.

I bet a GM lawyer had to proof read that to make sure they didn't get in any trouble.

What date can GM officially talk about the Camaro?

Geez, the GTO was NEVER a replacement for the Firebird. And there will never be another F-body.

Re: Bob Lutz talks about Camaro on his "blog".

That's the thing tho, someone said quit over analyzing everything that comes from GM....basically we can either believe what the GM brass says, which is that there's no sign of the car any time soon, or we have rumors and conjecture on the internet to base it against. I just find it funny that no one seems to give what the head of GM says any credibility.

Will Camaro come back? Maybe, I couldn't say. But what I can say is GM is handling it in the worst way possible. Can't mention it? You really think that if GM turns around and puts out a Camaro, the guys at Ford will be blindsided and not expect it? You really think that the world finding out that the Z06 had 500hp was some world cracking resolution that shocked the automotive industry? The Z06 is a C6 with hood scoops and the engine out of the C5R that's been out for years.....OMG HUGE INFORMATION LEAK GM IS DOOMED!

The new Mustang is barely faster than a stock 3rd gen Z28....

Please link me to the 3rd gen that runs 13s in the 1/4. Go ahead and find me some credible numbers that show a 3rd gen running that quick, I'd love to read all about it.

So what your "trying" to say is there "could" be a possiblity that a SWB Zeta could be called F-body, Would it not still be a Zeta...UNless.....

Cross brand comparison. Mustang is "based" on the DEW-Lite, But it is called its own D2C, Which it should.. It does not share any "DEW-Lite" components.

I replied to this because I have wondered about this for a long time, When the word come out that she could come back on the Zeta, And people started calling the "new "F" Bod".
