Of course he won't say the F-body is coming back. It will NEVER come back.

If a new Camaro comes it will be based on X (sigma, Zeta, take your pick) chassis and therefore not be an Fbody

Re: Bob Lutz talks about Camaro on his "blog".

The platform at which it will return is not still under debate. It's only debatable by people that want to beat the drums that the Cama...err Chey Zeta would not make for a good RWD pony car on the Zeta architecture. Now, I know people here think it is not, it's not a dig at anybody,

I've seen people say they like the GTO's rear seat room, think along the same lines for the Chevy Zeta in a few years.

I thought the Torana chassis was still being considered? I really hope they aren't making a mistake going with Zeta.

Well, since he did mention Camaro, I think we each need to make a well thought out reply to him. He may not read all the emails, but he does read the blog apparently. Here's your chance to talk directly to Bob.

Put it like this Josh.....

You can easily take a GTO, give it a new front fascia, eliminate some content, slap a "Camaro" emblem on it, and consider yourself done. You'll probably sell afew too.

But is that really a Camaro? Some at GM thought this would be a 'close enough', easy deal. ..

Others at GM are saying "NO-WAY.....hold on there pencil-neck".

We'll see what/if Zeta evolves into.

"But I do love the passion with which the Camaro faithful express their undying commitment to the object of their affections. Believe me, I've gotten enough email from you to know!"
You know what that means? Everyone should start writing him 2 e-mails instead of one.

Seriously, you WEREN'T going to get some big revalation regarding the Camaro from Lutz on his blog, but getting him to talk about it for a few seconds is a lot more than what we've gotten from GM in a looooong time. Good to see he's impressed with the passion, even if Red Planet wasn't.

Ok. This is what's supposed to tell me to keep the faith? Everything we ever get out of Lutz says Camaro isn't coming back any time soon.

You know, I was reading that thinking he might have read my marketing post from before...

In the end, "internet hoax" leaves me puzzled.

The fact that he even mentioned the Camaro means its at least on the radar screen of GM.

1. F body is coming back. The only issue is what it will be called.
2. Zeta is a architecture, not a "body". Body is based on an architecture. Architecture can spawn many bodies. Comprende?

1. GM never said they were considering the Torana chassis.
2. No one ever said the Torana was going to happen.
3. We know nothing about Zeta, so how can we say it's a mistake?

The dealers ran me off to Ford when I bought my Bullitt and the lack of an F body sent me back again for a Mach 1. The dealers ran me off of the Pontiac GTO thing with the mark ups and attitude. This is tuff for me big time..man that attitude makes me mad, he is making light of it...real funny Bob.
a) He didn't say a single negative thing about F-body fans. Shocking news for you: All F-bodies aren't Camaro. It can carry any name.

b) There's plenty of other cars if you are sick of those "clowns". The more Mustangs that are leased or sold, the bigger the case for a similar car at GM.

c) Pontiac dealers turned me off the GTO as well. If you like the Mach 1 so much (I like it myself) then quit yer whining and get one. If you are having a tough time because there isn't a Camaro at your local Chevrolet dealer, then you may want to seek help. There's alot to life than having the local Chevy dealer providing a way for you to spend a sizable portion of your income for the next 4-6 years.

d) If Bob Lutz's comments is making you mad, and you are troubled he's making light of it, try Valium, or even Vicadin and a glass of wine. You REALLY need to lighten up.

You know, I think I'm seeing why Fbodfather doesn't spend much time around here anymore. Some of you guys are just plan scary.

There's a difference between being an enthusiast and going a bit off the deep end.

Re: Bob Lutz talks about Camaro on his "blog".

Like I mentioned earlier, you know he reads the Blogs, go make your case for a new Camaro there.Dont go using words like "you clowns" though, make it professional and well thought out. Here is that tiny opening we've been waiting for to get in touch wih someone high up at GM.

I thik that would have been a good place for PacerX's post about Camaro owners' passion and the number of sales generated above and beyond that of just the Camaro.

Oh, and that commercial idea for a new Camaro that JasonD posted awhile back. I think that would be cool too.
