I can drive to the store with anwhere from 5 pounds to 10 pounds to no boost at all which can be anywhere from 200-350whp. depending on how much throttle I give it then put out over 450whp with the push of a button then back down to 200whp anytime I want. do you know what it takes as far as power and money for ANY car to even keep up with a 2400lb car with 450-550whp? the money u spent to buy your 14 second mustang plus its mods I probably spent half that for not only more power but MUCH better performance, I dont have to worry about the infamous "ford reliability" and you say I am crazy

So what does your car put out? 450whp reliably? What is the total cost for the car and all the mods?

few years ago I bought my ws6 for $26k dont know how much I spent over the years but cost of car and mods is definatly over 35k I run low 11's. now since my new setup isnt done I cant say what I will run but at the end of the day I have a civic that ran low 12's for $5k car included
and an fbody that ran low 11's for over 35k...
I dont fit your description, I am not a ricer, I dont think its the best car ever made. but what I do know is, I did run low 12's for less than most people payed for their bone stock car. I now have an additionl 6k invested a grand total of 11k..this includes a brand new jet black paint job. if I so happen to run 10's@over 130mph (my goal) with a a grand total less than my bone stock ws6 costed then what would that make me?

I see two stock '95 Civics in the paper for over five grand each! How are you running low 12s for $5K car included? Yours is a '94, right? Did you get the mods for free?
My buddy got a '90 LX 5.0 with gears, full exhaust, etc. for $2200. He could slap on nitrous, slicks and run low 12s for $3500 or less. That car is nice with about 100K miles on it. V8s are still the best bang for the buck.

Yes bigger engines are better for drag racing, even than my 281.
Yeah, and that turbo Civic that runs with 500 horse 5.0s is so cheap and reliable.

why is it you dont know anything about modding a type R then you decide to make stuff up, when have you ever heard of anyone building a type to turn 12k? people boost these motors. and since type R's already come with forged rods, they just replace the 11:1 pistons to a lower compression forged and a turbo and a upgrade the fuel system everything stays stock except pistons and fuel system, clutch and tires. and this WILL put out over 400hp reliably which is enough to pull consitent low 11 second passes.
and unlike a 5.0 u dont have to replace the crank, rods,,head, intake, camshaft, oil pump, water pump, timing chain.. then ultimately the block. just to make power in other words you dont replace the entire motor with a type R. doesnt it cost like 10 grand alone in parts you need to replace just to have reliable 5.0 that wont split its block making 420hp??

Get my point?

Bull$hit only a 4 bolt boss block or a race block can support over 500 I love how with each post you just keep on making up stuff about hondas and mustangs

Wow there's a lot of BS in here.
There's no replacement for displacement. The end. A 5.7L V8 has more potential than a 2.0L I4.
I don't see why people always argue about vehicle weight, either. If people really want to go fast they'd stick a V8 in a Miata or something and be done with it. I know there's a tuner that already stuck a 5.0 in a Focus, it was featured in a magazine. I would drive that if Focii
weren't so ugly
. I will not drive a little whiney four banger and call it a performance machine. It's amazing how all these people call overhead cams "technological breakthroughs" and think variable valve timing is going to add 50 hp to a little tiny engine. And the reason people add turbos to four cylinders is because that is the only way to make it competitive with a V8. I haven't heard of any NA 4 cylinders that keep up very well with an LS1, for instance, so there's some proof. I'm sure someone will chime in here about how they've witnessed a bored, stroked, 14:1 compression every bolt-on imaginable Honda beat a bone stock LS1. Wow, you've converted me now.
Where do I sign up to drive a "performance machine" that guys my age roll their eyes at and older folks smirk when they see them and hot chicks beat them in their Hyundais and Corollas...
/rant... This subject has been beat to death anyway.

\i can give you an example of over 25 hondas in the US that would walk handily over most any street car on here. period. and they would probably have spent less to do it. NA 4 cylinders arent fast. no one ever said they were. what we have been arguing is dumbass people like you that seem to get their jollies off somehow on bashing a persons car.
fwiw, you cant stroke a honda engine to my knowledge. 14:!? wow thats retarded. actually, let me take that back, most of your post was.
as for those older folks rolling their eyes, most of them dont eve care about performance anymore. and you also seem to get the ricer crowd confused with those actually wanting to go fast in their hondas. again it somehow doesnt surprise me.
Bill:
i never said my turd gen was faster than your second gen. i was however using those stereotypes since everyone else seems to be able to use the ricer stereotype with any import. cant take the heat? stay away from the fire.
