The only reason an old thread wouldn't be right where we all left it is if it got deleted.

you guys kill me... I just now saw the LT1 bashing that was done on me this past spring on this thread, lol...

I thinks it's awesome how much hate there is for the LT1. Everyone understands that LSx engines have more potential. People on here talk like every car out there needs to be running 9's N/A (or in the case of the mustang crowd, super easy 10's with just a pulley upgrade on street tires at only half throttle with 2000lbs in the trunk). I know most of the people on this board understand. But for the ones who don't, here ya go... It's very easy to build a stock bottom end, full weight, high 10's LT1. Most of us building LT1's are building them as street cars that we occasionally take to the track. We're not trying to break records (because we know unless your name is Joe Overton, that's not gonna happen). And what's nice about living where I live, is that my LT1 is one of the fastest true street cars in my county (and by that I mean a non-trailer queen that's driven on a regular (daily) basis that gets affordable mileage on pump gas), which is good enough for me. And as fast as your cars may be, I'll never be beaten by any of you because I'll never see you!! And honestly, I'd be scared as hell to try and take a 9 second car out on the streets and do any light to light racing.

and in the spirit of the track kills section...

... I still have yet to be beaten by any Mustang that I've encountered...

I've yet to run into any LS1's around my area. There literally aren't any. People around here either have a ton of money or not enough to worry about building cars. I've seen a few around but they are all bone stock or close to it.

I don't have it included in my sig that I'm running nitrous either because I ran out of space, I have to condense... so it'd better be a pullied terminator if it wants to have a chance.

But I do love the 03-04 Cobra. One hell of an engine. I wish my car came with forged everything and a blower from the factory
Could you imagine how ridiculous an LT1 or better yet, an LS1 would have been with forged everything and a blower straight off the assembly line?
