Marko Djuric has gone much, much faster. Try 8.60's

Ryan does have the fastest 6 speed to the best of my knowlege however.

Actually he went 8.42 @ 160!!! I forgot about him. He is an auto and I can't remember if he N20 or not. Regardless its a street car at full weight. Sorry I stand corrected.

ok then, you tell me how much its gonna cost to trap 130-140, and still have good street manners. because whatever you are gonna say, ive looked into it and its more than i want to spend. to a certain extent ETs arent important to me. because you cant really back up ETs on the street like you can trap speeds. plus i dont want a stall or some huge cam that needs new valve springs every year or less and im not putting most of my power in a bottle. now ill bottle it if its a small suppliment (say less than a 100hp shot) but thats about it.

sure an ls1 is fast stock (i wont even dignify the LT1 cuz i hate it) but they have this nasty head liftin problem with higher boost levels which kinda sucks because i still would love a black WS6.

So wait.. you mean to tell me that you can make a 75hp honda, faster than a 330hp LS1, for cheaper???? So what your saying is if you were to get a WS6.. the ONLY possible way you can think of hitting 130-140mph traps is by boosting it??

Re: Ams evo dyno video

As much as I dislike imports, I have to admit it is a VERY expensive endevor to go fast in an LT-1 or an LS-1 for that matter when using a turbo setup. I have already spent about $10K and Im not yet there. And thats only the motor and the turbo kit. Trapping 140mph is alot harder than people think. I think once you get to a certain level of performance/speed it doesn't matter if its a daewoo or a viper, just plain F*****G expensive. Now bolt on's are a completely diffrent story. Even the fast supra guys out there who havent touched the internals have spent major coin on other turbo related upgrades. All in all its an expenive game that never ends if you plan at attaining this level of performance.

Re: Ams evo dyno video

^When using some form of induction, yes I can see that being expensive. But you can obtain those 130-140mph trap speeds w/ bolt-ons in an LS1.

Cam, heads, better intake and all the other usual bolt-ons etc.. why is that funny?

Unless you're "bolting on" a blower/turbo/BIG nitrous kit to that "cam, heads, and better intake" you're not touching 140. You have never built a car that fast, slo don't try and tell us how easy it is to do. I've got a 130+mph car and it's not cheap or easy.

Re: Ams evo dyno video

Stock trans, stock internals etc will not support 130-140MPH traps whether A4 or M6. Its not easy in any car and requires serious commitment in funds, time and tune.

[QUOTE=yellavette]As far as what else you said, I couldn't agree more on the heritage thing. I buy my cars based on what I like and the deal I can get. Don't care who makes it or what it's history is. However, if you think you can't make an Fbody fast for little $$ you're not trying hard enough. You can pick up a LT1 Z28 for $4k or less. Rebuild the engine or get a 500 hp crate engine for $5-6k and have a 10 or 11 sec. car for $10k. Can you build a 500 hp Civic for less than $10k?
QUOTE]

Well this guy has made a low 11 sec car for under $5,000 including the price of the car. His best time is 11.271@120.62.

He does have A LOT of weight removed but still very impressive. Ecspecially since he is still using the stock turbo. It is not a civic though, but an import. I'm sure a ls1 like this will be pretty quick too but not this quick.

I never said it WAS cheap or easy
I *DID* say it was EASIER than making a 130-140mph civic

But the first 7 were'nt sold in the U.S. so the evo does'nt have a racing heritage in this country. They basicly took an economy car lancer put some ground effects and a big ugly wing and added a turbo and wah-la a performance car??Are'nt rally races mainly on dirt and snow? So the evo's only have a heritage of OFF pavement racing. In case you have'nt noticed drag strips and 99.99% of street races are on pavement. Most cars never leave pavement.
