Okay, let me know for sure!

In the Detroit area...Clinton Township/Fraser/Sterling Heights. I know the secrecy is kinda weird, but we have limited space. In case you missed it....

So WHPLASH, yup...in your area...can I count you in as 12?

You can count me in (12), but tell me where and when. Weekends close to home aren't a problem.

Okay, you are 12! I'll let you and everyone else who claimed a space know the details.

Re: Putting together a "Motor City Detail Day"

After letting the car sit for nearly 24 months, I finally got at it and pulled the motor. It's on the engine stand now. What a shame to have waited so long too: The aggregate time was less than five hours to pull it out. Probably more like four hours. I waited 24 months to do four hours worth of work?? Anyway, it's out now. I can now give it a going-over and fix that oil pump and oil pan. Everything's black too, it's been running rich. Let's see how long it takes to get it back INTO the car; hopefully not another 24 months.

OK, so it looks like my schedule is free both days as of right now.

So, why the hell not, count me in.

I don't think I know anyone except for Jason though Unless any of you guys were cruising around the Telegraph and Joy Road area about 7-8 years ago when I had my old SS.

Go ahead and count me in. I don't think Becca is going to make it though. If she does it'll still be just one car, so I'll keep trying to talk her into it.

Re: Putting together a "Motor City Detail Day"

I just got a big ol' box from Zaino Bros.! At this detail day, I will be giving away at least the following:

Zaino Maintenance Pack (split in half, so there can be two winners)
http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...roduct_Count=5

Zaino Bros. Total Protection Show Car Kit
http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...roduct_Count=2

Since we have less than 20 people, the odds of winning are pretty good.

Plus...I will have some bottles of Zaino product for anyone who wants to try it. It will be a free "use it and pass it around" type of thing.

I may have more goodies as well.

If I end up winning either of these, I will need directions on how to use it! I'm a HUGE Meguiars fan and heard that Zaino is complicated to use, but is very effective!

Nah, it is not hard. All of the info is on their site, but once you walk through it, it is easy. I think the main rule is to not use too much. People think a lot is good.

It is what I have used on my cars for over a decade.

Re: Putting together a "Motor City Detail Day"

I'm out. Lost all oil pressure while I was out on Woodward tonight, limped it about two miles back to Auto Euro where we were hanging out and it smelled really bad from the grinding that was going on. Having it flat bedded home tomorrow, doesn't look like I'll be able to make it to the Detail Day.

Re: Putting together a "Motor City Detail Day"

Ouch, that sucks! any ideas why, or did the oil pump just die?

was there much action last night, I don't have full coverage yet (next week ) or I probably would have been out.
