Re: Very pleased with 1.6rr's

I would LOVE to see a 14 RWHP gain out of just rockers and springs!

I don't believe in the butt-dyno, unless it's something like N20, but then you STILL don't know HOW MUCH you gained.

We can bench race power #'s all day long, the proof is on the rollers.

I didnt say **** about a butt dyno. You said you gained 7rwhp. All i said is it felt like more than that. I remember when i put on the moroso cai and i didnt fell this much gain. So im guessing i gained a good amount, thats all. Cars react differently to modifications.

Re: Very pleased with 1.6rr's

BTW, my local engine guy said the average gain with rr's and springs is 20-30 front end horse power. According to a %15 loss that would be anywhere from 17-25.5rwhp. Depending on mileage. He builds lt1's and ls1's all the time and owns the shop "From mild to wild" and dynos every car he builds. So i think i trust him..

What brand RR did you use? Still feel the same way about your gain?

I was told the stock springs are good for .500 lift (is this right?). My calculator says 1.6RR would put me around .475. Am I wrong to think that this is enough. I do realize that older springs are weaker and will float earlier because of it. This is one reason I have backed off my rev limiter to 5k until I get my heads/cam done over the winter.

1.7s are a waste? Then why do people make more power with them over 1.6s on stock heads?
