Re: more cam help PLEASE

you cant really ask which would put down better numbers. it all depends on whether or not you port your heads.

Re: more cam help PLEASE

You can't change the lobe separation angle (LSA)... its ground into the cam. The 114LSA is going to reduce overlap = less lope. Will push the peak torque RPM down, and reduce peak HP.

Which is more important... how it performs or how it sounds (lopes)?

Re: more cam help PLEASE

well sound takes a second to performance. ill plan to run 1.6 roller rockers and unported heads but iv heard alot of good #'s coming from the cc306 on untouched heads. i know the cc306 is bigger in almost everyway but not sure how it performes compared to the cam i have at the house

Re: more cam help PLEASE

do bigger #'s always equate to better performance (withen reason i understand u can just put in a huge cam with stock heads) will the cc306 performe as good as my other cam with stock heads?

How did you "tune" your 114LSA cam to a 112LSA? Please explain. Or are you saying you have a 114LSA cam, but the person who tuned it thought it was a 112LSA?

Confusing.

Re: more cam help PLEASE

iv seen a few people claim 350-355hp with the cc306 and stock heads. does that seem reasonable or b.s?

Re: more cam help PLEASE

Friend of mine runs the 306, 6 speed, stock heads, shorty headers, 4.11 gear. Turned 12.2 @114 last sunday. That cam puts out the high RPM HP. But low speed power is another question. It lopes like crazy,LOL.

Re: more cam help PLEASE

They may be able to make that on stock heads, but with ported heads they would be well over it

I have a friend with the hot cam and afr lt4 heads and made 390rwhp

you can have the biggest cam in the world that doesnt always mean you will make more horsepower

cause with out head work, and headers, exhaust and air intake you wont see the potinatial of the cam

Re: more cam help PLEASE

The cam you have is 236/236 the cc306 is a 230/244. Its a bad idea to run a single pattern camshaft on stock heads. Stock heads need more exhaust duration to get all the exhaust out. That is what helps make the CC306 a good performing cam. Judging by your posts i think you need to do A LOT of cam research before you make a cam selection Also if you have questions about the cc306 please use the search function as there has been 100's of cc306 posts as of late.
