Throttle body bypass
Re: Throttle body bypass
The steel tube from the back of the head is part of the reverse flow design. It's called a steam pipe I think... Anyway, yes it should be connected to the hose that is coming out of the radiator into the TB. I was referring to connecting the radiator hose to the little hose which connects to the steam pipe.
Re: Throttle body bypass
There is confusion on this because the 93/94 TB bypass is a little different than the 95-97 models. 93/94 needs a 3/8" barbed hose connector to connect the two hoses you pull off the TB connections.
The 95-97 models do not need a "connector". That is only required on the earlier models. On the 95-97's you pull the little rubber elbow off the passenger side TB connection, and discard it. Then you remove the hose off the driver's side TB connection, and you connect it to the place on the hoses where the rubber elbow used to connect - the metal steam line from the back of the heads. You shouldn't need any new clamps, just use the original ones.
You do not necessarily need to close off the connections on the throttle body, but its a good idea. That is where you need two 3/8" vacuum caps, not vacuum clamps.

Re: Throttle body bypass
i don't know i need help like NOW!!!!!

Re: Throttle body bypass
Did you read my post?
Pull the 90-degree rubber elbow off the passenger side TB nipple. Also take the other end of the rubber elbow off. Throw it away. Connect what you appear to be calling the "retrun hose" to the point where the rubber elbow connected.

Re: Throttle body bypass
yeah i was confused....
i need help with getting the tube from the steamline off because the spring clamps that connect them are underneath everything, can i just cut the hose from the steamline and put the return hose on it?

It's a pan in the but to get that clamp off.
What you need to do is take off the bracket to the Alt.
Take off the vacume hose to the TB.
Unplug your map sensor too.
Help you get more room to work with.
Move the sensor wires out of the way and cut that dam elbow.
Then you have to turn that dam clamp around so you can compress it.
So you can take it off.
Than you take the line that's off the TB that goes to the rad on the pasanger side up top.
And connect it to the steam line that you took the elbow off of.
It is a pain bug pain but you can do it if you have a dremel Ide cut the clamp off.
Good luck.

Re: Throttle body bypass
i got the hose onto the steamline pipe...wow i'm tired....
i am having a HUGE PAI on getting the MAF back onto the throttle body. the hose for that doesn't seem to wanna push in all the way.

Re: Throttle body bypass
i got the part that goes into the throttle body, now the part that goes where the screen is i'm having problems with. i see the lip you're talking about, but it just doesn't slip right in.
the only piece i have left is the airbox which is easy, and that piece between that i can't put on, it's hard.

Re: Throttle body bypass
i just finished....gave it a little test drive...and it's smoking a little bit, could this be from the coolant that could have spilled onto some of the other parts??? or could this be a problem that i did?
