Re: Throttle body bypass

i got it.

i was able to do it, my tools didn't seem like they would do the job but i got the brackets off, took out the vaccuum hose, the plug, everything. i put it on as far as i could possibly do it, and put the clamp back on. i'm gonna pick up a clamp tomorrow, and some coolant, cause i lost literally all of it lol. who knows, maybe it didn't work because i have lost so much coolant it doesn't have anything left to leak??? but it's on there tight, i'm letting it run a little bit to see if it leaks. what is the process of adding coolant in my car?

Re: Throttle body bypass

Make sure that you use the same coollant.
Red is Dex-Cool Green is the old stuff.
You should Have the Red Dex-cool in yours.
If not just pick up some green.
They say to open up the bleed screws.
One is on the coolant line on the left you should see it no problem.
And the other one is on the water pump outlet.
I never had to use them.
I just keepet the rad cap off till it got to 185 when the thermostat opend.
Then I just added any extra coolant to it.
Just keept an eye on the over flow bottle and check the rad for a day or two.
Just to make sure it was full.

Re: Throttle body bypass

well I just add it to the rad then when it's full I start it up and run it till it gets hot.
Or it start's over flowing.
I put my cap on and put some in the over flow so it can pull any more that it needs.
It's does that on cool down.
So that's why I check the rad and the over flow for a day or two.
I would get the mixed DEX-Cool.
That way you don't have to mix it.
+ alot of people here use distilled water.
That keeps out the minerals.

Re: Throttle body bypass

well I would get two gallons.
I would get the Pre mixed DEX-Cool.
You don't have to mix water in with it just poor it in.
The whole system from bone dry is 15.1 Quarts.
I don't think you lost that much.

You sould be fine just do as I said before about adding the coolant.

I gained 74HP on a bone stock LT1 to the rear wheels with this mod alone.

Beat that.

Re: Throttle body bypass

is it normal for it to start leaking at first?? it isn't leaking anymore, and i put a whole bottle in the radiator and the coolant recovery tank. if it continues to leak, where could it be coming from?

Re: Throttle body bypass

I am pretty sure it will top itself off to the correct level when the car heats up and the tank overflows or you can drain some through the radiator drain screw and run it and it should level out but u just gotta keep checking the
coolant level to make sure it is at the level where it is supposed on both the
radiator and reservoir tank...
one more idea I can think of is disconnecting the reservoir line that connects
to the radiator and (i did this by the way) blowing into the reservoir to push
out the water or just let the line hang loose but try not to get it on any components...
