Well I'm very sad to hear that the X-pipe setup doesn't work with the Pacesetters, which I'm almost 100% decided on. The Jet-Hots are a couple hundred bucks more and MUCH harder to install. I just need to decide which is more important to me...the Pacesetters or true duals.....?

I'm still gonna try to make the pacesetters and x pipe work. We'll see what I can do.

Yeah I'm sure you can make it work. I plan on buying Pacesetters and the X-pipe setup anyways. Poorman's sounds amazing, totally different from my raspy loudmouth....so i NEED to make this work haha.If I can't get the X-pipe to work, I only spent the extra $200 on it that the Jet Hot's woulda cost me anyways.

I replaced the old link with a video of me driving. The shift points are still too high. I hit the rev limiter before it shifts when at WOT. Anyway, it's always something I am messing with.

My god that car sounds damn good!

I'm gonna do whatever it takes to make this X-pipe system work with the Pacesetters. Excellent!!!

Yeah me too. I wonder if the Hedmann X pipe kit would work? I doubt LS1 cars are different than LT1's. I don't want 3" hence I"m not getting Texas Speed's kit and don't want to spend the money on Lane's kit.

what would the pros and cons be of a 2.5" vs 3" setup?

well the 3" should only be the high end engines that really rev high and make lots of power. you'll lose some low end torque that will offset any power gained in the upper rpms w/most power levels on this board. also, the 3" will be alot louder at all times, esp. idle/low rpms then the 2.5", and it will have less ground clearance then the 2.5" systems. I think I rememver reading somewhere that you only need 3" system if you r makein 500HP or more at the flywheel. but to me, even if Im near that number, I'd stick to the 2.5" because of the things Ive mentioned.

A little bit quieter.

I'm gonna try this out in a couple months, but can't decide if I'm going to get bullets or a couple of turbo mufflers (for those that wonder, the bullets are 4" diameter, turbos 4.25"..). Anybody got any pros/cons for each? I like a deep rumble that roars when you step on it. It seems like the bullets get a little high pitched when you step on it.

the bullets def. have that race car sound at WOT. I had cheap turbo II mufflers on my Iroc when I first got it goin, and it was TOO quiet. as in you could hardly hear the lope to the eng. at idle and at WOT it was quieter then a stock car w/a catback exh. they make for a nice driver but not if you want to hear the eng..
on a side note, the summit turbo mufflers are supposed to be a much nicer sound then most turbo mufflers. you can go to the impala ss/caprice websites to hear sound clips of those. lots of people over there replace the fact. mufflers with the summit turbo's.

I was probably going to go with the Thrush ones (the summit ones are just a little wider). I assume with longtubes and an x-pipe it should sound fairly healthy? I've got a Dynomax exhaust on my car right now and it sounds pretty good, but quieter than what I want. My friend said do get a chambered exhaust, but I figure that would be over the top... don't really feel like getting pulled over all the time.

Re: Summit Universal X-pipe system on LT's (pic)

Anyone out there find a way to make Summit's or Hedmann's universal X pipe kit to work on Pacesetters yet? Texas Speed's kit is $420, and it'd be nice to pay 1/2 that for the universal kit. I can't see much of a difference between Pacesetters and Jet-Hots in the way they fit, be it LT1 or LS1.
