Street cam with torque(full precise details)
I have read every pathetic page of this and I am not picking sides. I am from Plano and will be back sometime this next semester, look forward to it. I am finally getting slicks so I will video it just for you. I have seen a bunch of people post times I dont feel like searching on sunday for LE times... not my cup of tea.
I built my bottom end so it will be the first test of how good I did!! haha only 650 miles on new motor

i believe what he said was that due to the cracked guides allowing the springs to "dance" around in the head that very well could have been the cause of the the marks on the valves from the keepers
but i def am no expert on this subject i am only posting what i read

edit:
when the valve is not controlled by the guide laterally lots of odd things can happen to make the valve dance around with the spring and retainer.... now the 918's could have been at fault if they were the 2006+ examples from Comp, but it's hard to say what happened here with all the unintended valve movement caused by the guide.

When I try it doesn't quit give me the pleasure it does you. What am I doing wrong?
I agree wholeheartedly. You've got your threads mixed up now, son.
I see you conveniently left out the first part of that "FWIW it wasn't valve float...." sentence.
THAT'S what I was questioning.
So at first you were challenging my motive and you've been widdled all the way down to these type of simplistic, mindless responses. As already said your cause has failed and it shows.
Thanks for playing.

I UNDERSTAND the reasoning. It's the very first sentence that I was questioning. The very first sentence was a lead off to the reasoning. Do you understand?
No hate for senior or junior stroker - like I've been stating, there are still no answers to the questions and seeking out unhappy customers doesn't mean a damn thing..
what cam did you have again? did you ever put it on a cam doctor or cross-reference the lobes to see what you really had? springs failing @ 4k miles seems to be a huge red flag.
so please, go ahead and post up some good examples of unhappy customers, if for nothing else but to prove your own point to all the people reading this thread and trying to decide weather or not to buy a cam from him.
if you seriously cant post up some examples then all your doing is making him look good, do you not realize that
lol I skimmed over the last 2 pages but im assuming you guys are talking about my car being the stroker that trapped 112? ever stop to think that I just had problems with parts not related to lloyd and bret?
did you know I had 4 failed comp R lifters? I found 3 retainer clips, don't know where the 4th one went. this was after I had the lash set perfect and checked many times.
did you know I had no tuning? seems no one around here can tune LT1s, or at least that I could find.
did you know I had a terrible vacuum leak that I could not find? I had 6" of idle vacuum and it wasnt because of the cam. I degreed the cam twice, everything checked out.
did you know the used short block I purchased (and stupidly never checked the bearings out) had the incorrect pistons which dropped my compression ratio to around 10.5:1? my DCR was in the mid 7s...
did you know my car was a heavy pig? fully optioned, heavy torque thrust IIs all around, spare/jack/backseats all in place, and with my heavy 250 lbs in it. I bet the raceweight was around 3800 lbs. there was nothing light about that car.
did you know I was on the completely stock 130,000 mile suspension? my rear end was even shot, I peglegged bad.
did you know I race at a track known for its ****ty prep and track times? everyone I know runs 2-3 mph slower there than at other tracks. it was also 90+ degrees and very humid. I have a friend with a 440 rwhp all motor TA that runs 12.5 @ 115 at the same track in the same weather that I ran my 12.7 @ 113. thats AFR heads and a TTP equalizer v3 cam, all installed and tuned by TTP in NJ. a "reputable" shop I guess. countless bolt on cobras are running mid 12s. stock LS1 cars run mid 13s. stock/light bolton LT1 cars run mid 14s. 05 goat running high 13s.
but you guys just see "blah blah blah" excuses excuses because youre just out to destroy bret and lloyd...
I can prove I wouldve gotten faster as I worked bugs out...
my first time out with my LE3 383 I ran mid 13s @ 103. it was pulling 8-12 degrees of knock retard, had crappy mac headers that leaked before the O2 sensor (one bank was running excessively rich.) I kept fixing things and knocking my ET down.
went from a mid 13 @ 103 to a low 13 @ 105 just by fixing my MAP sensor.
wired a resistor in line to eliminate the false knock. that dropped me to a 12.6 @ 109 with drag radials. that was with a torque converter whose lockup clutch failed not 400 miles later that destroyed my freshly built transmission.
I had the converter and the trans rebuilt, replaced the mac mids with pacesetter LTs and replaced my drag radials with sumitomo street tires.
my ET went up to a 12.7 since I had uncontrollable wheelspin but my mph jumped to 113. I was still having issues with the tune and electrical bugs/vacuum leaks that I couldnt figure out. a week after I ran the times I spun a rod bearing and cracked two main caps. being a relatively poor college student and tired of pouring money into my car I decided to stick the stock engine back in it and cut my losses. I really wish I couldve kept at it and pushed her into the 11s but I just didnt have the patience or the budget to do show. I am certain that with the correct pistons, a fresh short block, lifters that actually did their job, a tad more weight reduction, and good tires.
regardless of how poor my car performed at the track I still ran pretty well on the street. like I said, I was even with a 400 whp 50 trim AGP kit'd SRT-4, beat a 350 rwhp bolt on TA by buslengths, only lost by a few cars when he sprayed a 150 shot, and I destroyed a 370 awhp evo along with a bunch of other lesser cars.
man all this talk sure does make me miss the car despite all the problems I had. come to think of it I think the ONLY parts that didnt give me problems were the parts supplied by lloyd and bret. I had problems with my throttle body, lifters, bottom end, and electrical/tuning. nothing with the heads, the cam, or the intake.

I cross referenced the .006 and .050 durations along with the lift and found the intake lobe in the catalog but I can't find anything that matches the exhaust lobe. The cam is a custom cam from bret that I bought a couple months before I sent my heads to Lloyd.

true and all i did was turn the tables and ask you one simple question, and just like you believe you deserve an answer(and believe it or not i also think you should get your answer) i believe i deserve an answer
so please, go ahead and post up some good examples of unhappy customers, if for nothing else but to prove your own point to all the people reading this thread and trying to decide weather or not to buy a cam from him.
if you seriously cant post up some examples then all your doing is making him look good, do you not realize that
