A buddy of mine, goes by the name GREASE here, makes around 410 rwhp. When he puts on BFG DR's and drops the tire PSI down, he is running 115-116 MPH. Something to think about.

Just to add to this..at 3550 I went 124 at 0 DA. 438 rwhp. Remember that is through a 9" and 4.71 gears.

lil info on the convertible and maybe this will help..
the 114.5 mph was made with a riding out the clutch 1.98 60 ft. and not to the wood with it till after the 60ft..
full weight convertible all accessories in place rollin factor alloys all around..through a 3.73 gear...I repeat 3.73 gear set..no suspension mods to date at a 3750 weight...trying to paint the clearest picture I can here..the car will clearly mph more than that....that was also ran with the base tune..not what with the tune in it now..
Something I'll also add I got alot of e-mails about cam, heads, tuning...... Just want everyone to know its not one individual part that achieved the results here....its the whole package being.
ported heads, intake, custom grind cam and the tuning that achieved that number and it will take certain boltons aswell (injectors, bigger Tb etc..)....Just dont want to mislead anyone, theres no magic one part, its the whole combination working together..

9 Pages and counting......

A guy is proud of his dyno numbers and posts them up. 9 pages later all of the "experts" have chimed in, and the result is about 8 and half pages of useless posts. I'll include mine in the useless category, mainly because I had to comment. Why not just a simple good numbers man, what's your set up? Does it really matter which dyno? I mean even if his results are slightly higher or lower it's pretty obvious that the guy is making good power, why is then necessary to argue about the validity of his numbers -for 9 pages.

I couldn't agree more.

My point is from what I have seen, experienced and the people I have known with 400rwhp combos between the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, TX and here in VA/MD at either Cecil County Dragway or Maryland Int. Raceway where both tracks are at sea level and have been known for excellent track prep and good weather conditions is where I am basing my opinion.
And with that you are entitled to your opinion but let me enlighten you about something. This car will not run with Draglites and skinnies. This car will not run with a launch most of you are accustomed to, to achieve the awesome numbers you guys can produce. I am not a good driver, I have admitted that in many posts across the internet. I've never made excuses about why I cannot run with cars similarly equipped to mine other than admitting I can't drive as well as most and me being 40 years old I'm way past my time of bruising my ego by admitting a fault of my own.

This car is a 6 speed with a 3.73 gear and a STOCK 10 bolt. I can only or am only willing to do so much with it at the track. I am far from the end of 4th when passing through the traps and you know there's more to be had with gearing or tires. I do not run at the track for your satisfaction I run at the track for mine. I ran a 12.95 @ 109.97 with my old H&C setup. I went back to the track after the new H&C (even though it was 90+ outside) just to see what the car would do and pulled the 12.44 at 114.5 untuned and I am VERY happy with that! I do not care if the car does not run to anyone's else expectations...it never has but I keep going back out because one thing never changes....me the driver, so If I keep adding something new and getting imrovement I'm happy.

The car is now tuned and I will run again in cooler weather to see what I can pull out of it.

As for the dyno numbers Brent called today and verified those numbers are corrected numbers off of the SAE standard 77*, 60% humidity and 29.92% barometric pressure. I also know the correction factor but I'll let the "experts" put their own in here to see what they really know.

I was also informed that the two dyno shops are very familiar with each other and they tested one dyno against the other for reference. The dynojet came back 2 HP higher than the DD. That was with about 180 RWHP to the wheels.

I have been to 2 different dynojets with correction factors of .98 and 1.02 (if we are talking about the same thing). Which dyno shows higher numbers, the .98 or the 1.02?

W/out a doubt people are running faster. My 3700lb SS (w/ my fata$$ in it) 370rwhp combo ran a 12.0 at 115.5 here at Cecil Country Dragway which.. as mentioned is at sea level and the temp was 40F.

The fact of the matter is your car does not have to run on draglites and skinnies to run MPH. I can only speak for myself here but I'm not interested in what ET's you pull. I am more interested in the MPH and most anyone, drive or can't drive, can get a decent trap speed. MPH through the 1/4 is a good indication as to what kind of power your car is making. You say your car weighs 3750 w/ you in the seat. To me I believe w/ 452rwhp and 400ft.lbs of torque you should be in the low to almost-mid 120mph range. Again.. that is just based on what I've seen, experienced and the people I've known w/ 400rwhp combos.

If you are at least running a drag radial that should still be enough to get a decent MPH even if you have to granny launch the car.

Wait a second.... you come to this board and to the EFA board boasting about a LT1 record and now you say this is only for your satisfaction?
That doesn't necessarily sit right w/ me. You obviously posted this to get attention into thinking you may have one of the most powerful stock bottom end LT1 heads/cam combos in existence. At least that is the impression you gave me when stating:
? on Record RWHP on a stock bottom LT1 N/A, Hows 452!
And on the EFA board:
HOUSTON!!! The LS1's have a problem! Joe U better sit down!
To me that sounds like you are wanting to share with lots of people the results of your combo which, to me means it is more than just about your satisfaction.
In this case you should be open for criticism and non-believers because no one has ever heard of a stock bottom end car making the power yours has, not many people are familiar with the type of dyno those results were generated from and you haven't run any kind of track times to justify your numbers as of yet.
I wish the best for you. I hope what your dyno says will reflect in your MPH. But I am skepticle given the reasons above. And again... from what I've seen between here and TX w/ the different combos I am familiar with I would expect your car to turn the numbers I stated earlier regardless of whether you are running a 10-bolt and not having the capability to launch hard.
Good luck

The 1.02 CF. The actual dyno numbers are multiplied by the CF to get SAE (as well as other standards) corrected numbers.

Yeah, but it isn't always that hot down there. Aren't the tracks open during the winter months?

Interesting- I've found the exact opposite to be true (many times over!). Yes, it's hard to botch trap speeds on 'low' rwhp setups (<350rwhp)... even blowing a launch/getting a bad 60' doesn't hurt the trap speeds (and it some cases helps it!). With that said, on a 430+rwhp f-body, it's a completely different story. On street radials, I find it *impossible* to get the trap speeds I'd normally get with stickies... and we're not talking a few MPH difference here, either. I'm close to 10mph shy of my best traps without the M&H's on! On a related note, I've had a friend do H/C, dyno 390rwhp, and take it to the track [@ sea level] on regular radials only to run 13.2 @ 108.... if you can't get the power to the ground, the trap speed just won't be there.

actually the tracks close down here just like they do everywhere else.maybe open a little bit sooner due to the snow factor but they close too.and this doesnt have anything to do with the original post.the guy is proud about his car--and im impressed.whats the point trying to doubt his combo?

I'm not sure what you mean by "street radials" or what you mean by "stickies" or "regular radials". I am speaking of drag radials (Nittos BFG DR's) which even for a 450rwhp car can hook up as long as track prep is acceptible. There are a couple of tracks here that hook very well even for high hp cars running a drag radial generating 1.5 60' times. Around here there are many more complaints about people breaking driveline parts from launching than having traction problems.
