oil pump ?

I read all the posts about using a hv oil pump on a stock pan, im confused now about what one to use. I think most people are saying to use the Melling select, but ive looked on summits web site and cant find one for our cars. I know we can use some gen1 parts but is the pump and pick up one of those parts. Can anybody post a link or a part number for the pump and the pickup. Also do you install the white spring in the select or leve it alone. Thanks for the help

oil pump is the same as a gen 1, so yes, use the select oil pump for a gen 1 sbc

I've seen the stock LT1 pump (bluprinted), tack-welded pickup and white spring support over 1,000HP in an LT1 using a stock pan and a windage tray. I use the same setup in my stroker.

Do you by any chance know what the different color springs represent? I've done a search on google and nothing turns up. I have a pink one in my melling.

In the 1994 model year GM changed from the 5/8 to a 3/4 inlet pump for the LT1. I assumed it was to give it a little more volume available at any given moment. I don't have any data stating which is "better".
