Of the 2, OBDI is by far easier to modify without running into obstacles but gives you just as good control. Yes 93 - 95 was OBDI. Stick with your 94. 95 is bastard child in that it has OBDI control with a OBDII connector. For me, the Snap-on Solus deals with it all but others have had issues. Particularly those id^&ts at AZ that try to read them with their OBDII scanners.

OBDII monitors more things that you will only find a nuisance. Like misfires and cat health.

I suggest you become familiar with scanners, able to deal with OBDI in an F body. Not merely code readers. In your day to day dealings with this OLD chassis, you will inevitably run into a running issue. A code reader is OK at best. You should have a scanner that can read real time signals from sensors. Very helpful.

You need to talk to Shoebox about that cam you plan on using. I think he has the same cam. He can give you advice better than anyone with regard to using it.

It is not "outdated" unless you have an intense love of emissions control systems. There are only very subtle differences between the OBD-I and OBD-II means and methods of controlling the LT1 engine. The major difference is the fact that OBD-II added numerous checks on the performance of the emissions systems. They didn't change anything that really affects the performance of the engine. A minor issue with controlling the 4L60E with very high stall torque converters.... but that's not usually an issue, and people have developed work-arounds.

Do not convert to OBD-II. Many people with OBD-II (96 ane 97 only) convert to OBD-I, because of the availability of cheap/free scanning software, cheap tuning software, less issues with a multiplicity of emissions codes, etc.
