I've had the same 96z28 since 2009. Not a mechanic but if pointed in the right direction i can get my hands dirty. I got up this morning to run to the part store and get me a solenoid for my trans. It lost 1st and 4th but not reverse. Was told it is solenoid a from code and doing some research on this site. Moving forward I was pulling out of my neighborhood and while at the light the car stalled when I went to take off. Car will only start with throttle wide open and will not idle. Going to check the IAC next have tried maf and tps. Coolant is clean but its pouring white smoke out when starting. Oil is clean and fuel pressure is at 45psi. Trans running cold around 150 and motor is cool at 180. Oil pressure is normal. Anyone got any advice I'd love to hear it lol. Thanks

 

Putting the accel pedal on e floor to start the engine puts the PCM in “clear flood” mode. Could be a stuck/leaking injector, excessive fuel pressure, or coolant temp sensor telling the PCM the engine is colder than it actually is. Closed IAC could also be a problem, but that would be an unusual failure. White smoke is odd.... that is usually coolant.
