need help on lt1 swap
Re: need help on lt1 swap
im outta options i have checked every ground, every wire on both sides of every connector, all my serial datas all those grounds... and still cannot connect to the computer. cant find the theft deterrent relay though? does the pcm lock itself... is there a reprogram of some sort? what can be cause me not to establish a connection when every wire is right???????????? somebody out of the 1,000,000+ board members has had to have had this problem... im not the first to swap v6 to v8.... just doesnt make sense.
Re: need help on lt1 swap
theft module i believe in in the center of the dash set, i found it when i ripped my dash off. sorta hard to get it. even with dash off. it sorta would be behind all the air ductwork behind where the radio would be.
Re: need help on lt1 swap
i doubt it although i can't verify this for sure. you must be getting quite frustrated with this for sure by now. it doesn't seem theres many users out there willing to throw in more help. that sux.
ya that module is for sure where i said it was, i double checked. if you lay on ur back in the center of the dash behind radio area you can see the black box. its near all those vacuum actuators.
i'd help you work on it if you were closer. i'm up in ny

Re: need help on lt1 swap
yea frustrated just a lil bit now... i talked to a chevrolet dealership today and they said that if the fuel pump works and the motor does turn over then VATS is not an issue... my next attempt is takin off the fuel rail and testin to see if those injectors are really flowin.... but the connection to the computer is really buggin me
yea man i wish you were a lil closer too cuz sometimes somebody has to actually be able to look at the problem to figure it out instead of just readin about it...

Re: need help on lt1 swap
I'm gonna necro a dead thread here because I have the same problem. 94 LT1 M6 into a 95 3.4 A4. I have power from D1 to D3 (12v) and B30 to ground (6v) but not B15 and B31. It'll crank, but no fuel pressure/prime. I only have one connector coming from the headlight over the shock tower and if there is a fuel pump prime connector, I sure as h*** can't find it. Anyway, it ran fine 2 weeks ago when I started, so I'm reasonably sure the fuel pump/relay is ok. Madwolf, I need ya, buddy.
Re: need help on lt1 swap
OK, so B15 and B31 go thru the C210 connector under the dash to a 10 amp fuse the C200 link (whats this?) a fusable link to the positive battery terminal. Since the only thing that changed is the C210 plugging into the under dash harness, here's my Q: Are the power leads on the C210 for the PCM in different locations? Why would the V6 get power, but the V8 not?
Re: need help on lt1 swap
Fixed this problem, but I have another. That doesn't belong in this thread though. Here's the fix for anyone else who runs into it. On the 95 dash harness, there is no power feed for the PCM in the black connector, while there is on the 94. The dash side of the black connector can be seen here (note there is no orange wire):
Dash side
The engine side of the connector can be seen here (note the orange wire for the power feed to the PCM):
Engine side
To supply power, jump the pink wire on the blue connector to the orange wire on the engine side and put a 10 amp fuse in the 15 amp fuse's place.
