need help on lt1 swap
Re: need help on lt1 swap
These two tests should only take you 5 minutes, so I would try them first.
If your fuel pump primes, you'll know the fuel pump is good and wiring to it is good too. So then it's either the PCM or something going on in the interior. If the PCM is getting power but the fuel pump doesn't prime, something's messed up with your wiring to the fuel pump or the fuel pump itself and the PCM can't turn it on. If both of them are working, something is going on inside the car.

Re: need help on lt1 swap
ok checked power on connectors D30 on blue didnt have power i supplied power to it... everything works now fuel pump will prime. went to crank it one of the cylinders fired and wont do anything now but zoo over. checked for spark its gettin spark, checked fuel pressure its gettin 42 lbs constant, checked fuel injectors and there firing too. motor has fuel and spark but wont crank
but i still cant connect to the pcm, i ran a wire straight from pin 9 to the serial data line on the 105 connector and still no connection. i read the serial data wire is supposed to have 5V but it is only reading at 2.4V??? could it still be VATS even if the fuel is workin?

Re: need help on lt1 swap
You supplied power to D30 only? Power should be going to all those wires I listed above. Same goes for ground. This means you didn't connect the initial wire I told you about correctly. The one that went to the PCM.
Re: need help on lt1 swap
If you really have spark and fuel, you have other issues other than vats.
Check for power at injectors. Check for grounds to injectors. Check all grounds for pcm. Check all power inputs at the pcm.

That is true.
Besides this, to get your serial data, check continuity between pin 30 on the blue connector to one of the serial data wires on 105 and 220. It must have continuity.
To establish a connection, you need both ground and serial data from the pcm.
Re: need help on lt1 swap
real worried bout not being able to connect to computer, but i must check these connections tomorrow... pretty sure all grounds and connections are hooked up but must check again... i put a node tester on the injectors and they are firing... also EGR and AIR and low coolant sensors are not plugged up because didnt put them back on the car and the lamp harness for the V6 doesnt have a low coolant sensor. would this effect anything being that i have a stock tune still.... cant load Ion's tune till i can make a dagblam connection.... really lost at this point
Re: need help on lt1 swap
Continuity tester is your friend.
Also print shoebox's website diagrams and put it under the pillow at night.
It seems like you have messed up the wiring somewhere. I would recommend going through my suggestions again and making sure everything is connected as listed. If you were not getting power at the PCM even after you connected the wire I mentioned at the beginning of the post, chances are you connected it to something else which may not be a good idea. Double check everything.

Re: need help on lt1 swap
on the blue connector #30 to either 105 or 220 is it supposed to be power or ground? and if so if it is power could i just hook power to it like i fixed the injector wire?
Re: need help on lt1 swap
No, it's to verify that there is a connection between one end of a wire or another. (in your case) My multimeter beeps when there's a connection if set in continuity testing mode.
