need help on lt1 swap
aight, i have a 97 v6 and bought a wrecked 95 Z28. got the swap done with the engine in the car ready to run. when i turn the key on all lights and stuff come on but fuel pump doesnt prime nor run. also im not getting a diagnostic readin from the PCM. is there a process to reset the pcm or i also think it might be VATS but i dont know how to disconnect that... any suggestions would be a great help at this point. also another note the Z28 ran fine it would start i could drive it around my driveway and everything before taking it out. thanks guys
Re: need help on lt1 swap
get one of those VATS bypass boxes that you need to hook up a remote start car alarm. or you could measure the resistance of the the Z28 key's resistor and wire in a variable resistor.. I wanna say some where out there I saw instructions on how to bypass VATS... do a search on this board and then google...
Re: need help on lt1 swap
still not working. today i switched the lock cylinder and ignition module on top of the steering column so i could use the 95 lt1 key and still nothing. but the motor will only turn over with the 97 key??? still no readin from the computer nor fuel pump... is there a special reset process for the computer??? finally get an lt1 and cant here her run

Re: need help on lt1 swap
The lock and cylinder have nothing to do with vats other than to measure the resistance, those two wires coming off the ignition cylinder go to a tiny chip underneath the drivers dash (the vats module) if the resistance is correct it tells the PCM it has the correct key and to function like normal, either program VATS out or by a bypass box for $20 off ebay.
Re: need help on lt1 swap
There are several wires that need to be swapped around.
Your C100 connector, this is a black, 10 cavity connector on your passenger side strut tower.
You will need to supply a power feed from injector fuse #10 to cavity K. (if you look on the connector, cavity designations will be on it)
You will need to supply a power feed from PCM fuse #8 to cavity D.
For this one, you can jump a wire from the black, flat 4 pin connector that connects to the interior harness. The power is supplied at pin C on that connector which your 95 harness does not have. On your 97 side the wire will be of orange color. Jump it to C100 and you're good.
This should get your engine running. To get your serial data communication stuff working, I'll write another post. Sorry, don't have time right now.

yea thats another problem i have a tune from MADz28 to delete the VATS but i cant make a connection with the computer.
also tried the diagnostic scan tool and it doesnt make a connection with the computer.

Re: need help on lt1 swap
White wire I believe, can't help because I have a thirdgen ALDL and I just needed to connect the ground and Serial data from my ALDL to the PCM. I imagine its the same thing on the 4th gen.
