Re: need help on lt1 swap

Serial data is pin 9 on the DLC.

There is a tan wire for serial data. On the C105 connector (8 cavity, black, on the passenger side strut tower) this wire is located in cavity E on both 95 and 97 harnesses.

This wire is also located on the C220 connector (white, going into the car) on cavity F on the 95 harness, but it's not there on the 97 harness. So I'm assuming, the serial data is going to the DLC through the forward lamp harness on the 97. I guess once you have completed the modifications I listed in the previous post, you could try to see if you can get a connection to the PCM. Then if you don't, you could jump the wire in the cavity F on C220 to pin 9 on the DLC.

Your C100 connector, this is a black, 10 cavity connector on your passenger side strut tower.

You will need to supply a power feed from injector fuse #10 to cavity K. (if you look on the connector, cavity designations will be on it)

You will need to supply a power feed from PCM fuse #8 to cavity D.
For this one, you can jump a wire from the black, flat 4 pin connector that connects to the interior harness. The power is supplied at pin C on that connector which your 95 harness does not have. On your 97 side the wire will be of orange color. Jump it to C100 and you're good.

This should get your engine running. To get your serial data communication stuff working, I'll write another post. Sorry, don't have time right now.
there was no wire in cavity K... its a blank cavity, so i figured you were reffering to cavity A the pink wire... then manual said that was the power wire. got all connection hooked up checked all with a volt tester and all recieved power. still nothing no fuel pump prime no fire. hooked up serial data wire and still cant get a reading...

Re: need help on lt1 swap

Of course there isn't. That's why you need to supply it. There isn't one on the forward lamp harness which belongs to your 97, but there is one on the 95 engine harness connector and you need to supply it with power from the injector fuse I mentioned above.

Did you supply power to D?

also #9 on the fuse says injector, but #10 says engine sensors not injector. just throwin out every little detial i can think of that might solve this nightmare of mine.

Re: need help on lt1 swap

Yea, you're right. I just checked a 95 harness I had laying around here and there isn't a wire in K on this one either.

The fact that your car was made in 96 doesn't matter.

Did you try jumping the serial data wire like I mentioned earlier?
I think right now your PCM is either not getting power or VATS is not allowing the fuel pump to run, but probably the first one.

By the way, does your fuel pump run if you prime it through that connector on the passenger side strut tower?

Re: need help on lt1 swap

To prime the fuel pump, jump 12v to the fuel pump prime connector. It's a single wire with a small black connector on the passenger side strut tower.

Re: need help on lt1 swap

ok if it primes what will this indicate? i also looked at all the power feeds and all are recieving power. D was the only one without power and i hooked it up and checked it for power and it did.

Re: need help on lt1 swap

Power is going to the PCM through the following connectors/pins:

Black connector - B15 and B30 and B31.
Blue connector - D3

Ground is going to the PCM through the following connectors/pins:

Blue connector - D1
Gray connector - C32
Red connector - A18

To check for power, measure voltage between pin D3 and D1 on the blue connector. You can also check continuity between the passenger side strut tower ground bolt to D1, but if you're getting power from D3 and D1, you should be fine.

Also, did you hook up the copper braided ground strap from the engine to the body? (on the driver side)

If it primes it means there is no problem with the pump or the wiring going to the pump.

Yea, those are the connectors going in the PCM. Just pull the blue one out and take your reading.
