Mobil 1 oil filter for LT1
A lot of the LT1 UOA's over there at bobistheoilguy.com, have used some sort of fuel additive in there vehicle. Isn't lead in Fuel-additives..i.e injector cleaner etc.? I've seen a fair share of pretty clean UOA's of LT1's using M1 there too
. I looked thru over 400+ threads and have found no conclusive evidence that M1 is junk in any LT1 or any SBC.
If I had a 400-500hp car I would definetely run a lot thicker oil, but M1 5W30 has always done the job.
Mind explaining why Mobil 1 is crap anyone w/ actual proof other than a wild goose chase? As for running napa oil, in my lawn mower would be about the only place you'd find it.

Didn't say it was crap just NOWHERE near as good as assumed.
Those UOAs you looked at were they specifically LT1s???
Seen 15K mile interval for a 1.8t VW that was awesome and routinely low mile M1 results in LT1s that were not worth paying the synethtic price for.
Then again most people tend to see the answer they go looking for and you wont accept anything other than M1 is awesome.

This is how far I looked man over 400 threads, I've looked at 3 TA's, 2 Camaro's, 3 Vettes, and a couple of b-bodies looked at all the grand am UOA's too since I own one as well, I run M1 5w-30 in that as well. This was the last one I looked at 96 Impala SS w/ close to same mileage as my LT1:

I don't regard M1 as the best oil or awesome for that matter, I know it works just fine in my vehicle, that's it
. I know there is much better lubricants to use, but why should I when my track record with M1 is just fine? So why should I change. And I don't know how much you guys pay for oil, but I get my M1 relatively cheap...
I'm sorry for stepping on toes, I know this is off-topic, you can push your big red button now...

If you watch AutoZone recently had a sale on 5 quarts of Syntec and an M1 filter for $26, that is an increadible deal. The PNs have been listed, keep an eye for the sale to repeat. They had no problem letting me get two packages at the sale price, only left them like 1 quart of GC though and cleaned them out of the "LT1" filters.

That's the first I've heard of GC being labeled as another oil.
If interested, the Amsoil EaO filters are supposedly very good. I've had good results with them, but have yet to try them in my Z.
