main tolerances, am I reading this right?

in reading the tolerances for the mains the service manual say the tolerances for the first main are 62.189mm-62.212mm

I'm assuming that the clearance is those two numbers subtracted
for example

62.212-62.189=.023mm

so I would not want to see a measurement with plastigauge that would read more than .023 correct?

Most people run .0025" on an iron block. On the rear, run 0.0030" inch with iron. Your numbers look like tolerances for the main bearing diameter. The clearance is the (bearing diameter - crank journal diameter). The bearing diameter is measured with the main caps installed and torqued to spec.
