i bought a 96 camaro Z28 and it runs well with no bad noises but i still have things to fix. i replaced the opti today because it was hard starting at times and had a pretty noticeable hesitation. the car fires up much faster now. the unit that i removed from the car was an accel which i have read is very trouble prone.

anyways my main question here is what is normal oil pressure for one of the engines. the car is high in mileage but the engine was apparently rebuilt. i took his word on it. the car gets nice high oil pressure at cold start, after you drive it for a while it gets a little under 40 PSI while cruzing and 20 some PSI at idle, is the normal oil pressure.

the car does not smoke out the exhuast at all. none what so ever. i have been around small blocks almost my entire life and all of them always smoked at start-up. this car does not do that, so i think that's a good sign.

 

Sounds fairly normal. 20 at hot idle is good.
