Lt1 to LS1 Driveshaft

Replacing the seal on the back of my T56 since it was leaking, have a friends old Aluminum driveshaft laying around and thought I might toss it in. My steel one has a decent ding that I believe has been causing some slight vibration. Is it just me or does it appear the yolks is slightly longer on the steel driveshaft compared to the Aluminum one? Or is this caused due to a separate transmission from one or the other? Any info would be great.

Thanks, Grant

Actually after lining them up a bit better there's almost no difference, but I can see on the steel one where it actually extends past the 'threads' that go on the output output shaft. Where on the Aluminum one, the 'threads' actually start immediately.

The snout lengths are slightly different, but overall length should be the same. They are interchangeable without issue.

Works great. I picked up a used one and added two new u-joints. Good cheap mod for a stock LT1.

Re: Lt1 to LS1 Driveshaft

Was able to successfully get the driveshaft in nice and smooth. Had to drop the torque arm out of the way probably due to my custom exhaust. Fits in nice and snug, no leaks from the rear seal after replacing it either!
