The best way to address this would be to buy uncoated headers, test fit, clearance where needed, then ship them out for coating.

The set of Jethot headers that I have had one small spot where it hit the steering knuckle, and another where it hit the cross member. Both spots just ended up loosing a bit of the coating (no heat used), I did not see any cracking or flaking.
