Unhappy i must complain about my pacesetter lts (a little long)

My pacesetter long tube driver side header fits just fine, but the passenger side is giving me hell. Had to jack u p the engine to get it in. Now its rubbing on part of the tranny, the motor mount enclosure, and the egr wont line up because the tranny dipstick is in the way. Its rubbing the motor mount and the header still has about a centimeter between the flange and the head, so it definatly wont make a good seal.

Im going to try putting the poly motor mount in, to see if that helps with the motor mount enclosure rubbing on the primary. I will probably have to grind off the little piece on the tranny; it looks like its just a random piece of metal sticking off. And for the egr, i have no idea as of yet. I think i might have gotten a crappy header. Grrrrr ive been on this project for so long because its my first header install, i can only work on it on the weekends, and i keep running into problems. Im kind of leaning towards a crappy header because i searched, and haven't read about all these problems all at the same time. I hope if it is they will send me a new one.

Check out some pictures of what im talking about here and lemme know what you guys think:

my drivers side header touches the steering linkage occasionaly when i turn. the instal was a pain also since it was my first time but if you look around on the forums, it is common to have to undo a motor mount to slip the header in. also, do you know if your AIR tubes are going to hook up correctly?

Im not hooking up the AIR stuff, just the EGR. Its not the fact that its a pain to get the header in because i got it in fine, but its rubbing on the motor mount enclosure so the header wont bolt to the heads correctly. Theres no way it will make a perfect seal, because the primary is touching the motor mount enclosure, thus keeping the bottom of the flange farther away from the head than the top part of the flange.

I had the exact same problem with the EGR pipe getting in the way of the tranny dipstick. The solution: I took the header out, I heated it up with a Sears propane torch for ten minutes, and I bent the EGR tube with a piece of rod iron a good 3/4-1 in. and it cleared the tranny dipstick perfectly. I had to put the header in and take it out a couple of times to make sure it was bent exactly the way I wanted it. As for the header touching the k-member, you will need some new motor mounts I'm sure. Once you get those in, that problem should easily dissappear.
