is LT1 great for a road trip car?
well, i just got back from my road trip last night, and LT1 has proven it self once again....i went to SF and get a pretty decent gas mileage...i got around 350-360 miles/full tank....and once i floor the gas pedal to 150 MPH at 5800 RPM....i took it to SF, drive around town in SF and got back with no problems at all....thanks for all the replies.....
i took it to SF with four people in the car with no prob. we still got enough space to sit and to sleep
, well we are 4 small people
...i must say that LT1 is a strong engine, with 118K on the engine, it still pull strong as hell, 85 MPH at around 2400RPM and got to 90 at 2600RPM

Road trips
This Z28 a grand touring motor car,
I have driven from Wash D. C. to California and back five times, so far. And enjoyed every mile of those trips. I Have gotten at times about 400 miles per tankfull depending which way I'm going--East towards West is a bit lower MPG due to that small mountain range that--but gets better on the return trip.
The first time (in 97), it took 47 hours with a 4 hour break in OK City to arrive. Most of the time, a 15 to 30 minute break while refilling, small talk with the locals, etc was the norm...
The last time I took the rural roads - lasted one week to make. Seems an "Out-of State" tag does get the most attention from the Five O's and also the "babes"... One gets the good along with the bad.
These days I travel from 100 miles up to 1000 a week (majority highway miles) --- it all depends on the work calls I get. And now that I have replaced the fuel pump (a few hours ago) - can't wait to go buy a gallon of milk or that urgent need for a single roll of toilet paper...
No more hesitations from Magnolia
