bought my formula on ebay picked it up in texas and drove it back to connecticut... loved every inch of the 1700 miles... only spent a shocking low 95 bucks worth of gas too and that was with the ac on i averaged 26 mpg
i have yet to to take a road trip in mine i will be in feb though ....but my v6 traveled well....my brother comes down from SC a lot and he loved driving his 1995z28...he got good gas mileage also..and he loves taking the vette down now lol....just not a lot of room for luggage
I made two trip from Dallas to Toronto (Non Stop). My car is lighly moded. IE CAI, TB pass, T160, 1.6 RR, Heades, ORY, Cat back, Spec Clutch, Gears. Putting out 320RWHP and I got 37MPG in the road trip
We took the 95 to Texas for Spring break in Padre Island
( ....VERY FUN....)
I would do it again in a heart beat, the car got close to 30 mpg, We didn't run the A/C, and thats with 2.73s. The only thing that would have made the trip any better was having T-Tops

I'll know in next summer when I take a road trip to Texas with some of the guys in my frat. I'll probably pay a visit to LG on the way too
If my car makes it, I'll finally be able to say I can put an engine together corrrectly.

The longest trip I've taken in the Z was about 6.5K miles. Dallas to Detroit, stopped in Bowling Green on the way. Then East to see a friend in Connecticut, via Canada. Stopped at Niagra falls on the way. Went to NYC & Ground Zero. Then to Chicago to see another friend. Then to Minneapolis to see more friends. Then to Oklahoma City. That was when the car was at about 150K miles. Now its at 173K.
In college I took it into the Big Bend area in West TX. Just wide open desert out there, & no one around for hundreds of miles. Open Road Races are held there annually. I set the cruise at 120 for about half an hour...made great time.

Drove to speed automotive to pick up some parts. (Rear end, radiator, console, drivers side mirror etc. etc)
Indianapolis, IN to Cleveland, TN little less than 900 miles round trip. Had rearend sticking out of hatch on the way back with gutted cat, eyes were burning. It was great!
Doing it again soon. These cars are great for road trips. *cough* and racing on the way to your destination *cough*

Drove from chicago to phoenix. ~25-26 mpg. Good road car though seats are not all that comfy.. Lack of lumbar support. Handled the mountains fairly well (considering stock suspension). Though going up the inclines in denver did require 4th gear @ 3Krpm (give or take) to maintain 55 mph... Also be prepared for blizzards in the mountains even if its summer.
Do carry a fullsize spare with you though. Don't want to be caught in the middle of the desert with a donut.
