Frankly, I don't go along with all these responses. The F-Body is loud, hard riding and confining.

If I was going to take a road trip, I'd rent a nice full-sized 4-door sedan.

On a road trip, I want smooth, quiet, roomy and reliable.

Having said that, I will add that I'm also very an old.

i've driven mine over a thousand miles at a time more than 15 times between IL and Houston and IL and Colorado and averaged just over 30mpg doing 80mph or so, I just put the seat back set the cruise and and go stop for gas every ~417 miles or so

I drove mine with about 90K+ from NJ to TN to SD. No problems at all. I would drive mine anywhere any time.

Great car for a road trip. The leather/power driver's seat in my Z28 is alot more comfortable when compared to my daily beater, 99 Accord EX Sedan. I know some people complain about the seats in the Z28 but, they are so much better than the seats in my Accord Sedan. The Accord gives me a lower back ache, after a couple of hours. I can drive the Z28 all day long and my back feels great.

Take the Z28, you won't be disappointed.

I pretty much covered all of Florida last November, driving from Miami to Tallahassee and back. The way up was great, no traffic, raced a couple DSMs. Man it was pretty loud though. Unless you're going 90+ 6th gear will drone especially with longtube headers and Loudmouth exhaust. 5th gear actually seems more calm because it gets you out of that sub-2000 drone range, but it turns the RPMs a little higher obviously. Never driven this car for 8 straight hours only stopping for gas so it was a test and it passed.

On the way back, though, I was sure to bring a set of earplugs before it drove me insane. Local highway/city driving is fine, but 8 hours at 1800rpm will mess you up! If you have a muffler and some good tunes, enjoy!

I've made several 300 to 400 mile trips in my '95 Formula! It got great gas mileage,it was comfortable, and it has never missed a beat. Yet.

Vancouver - Seattle

I frequently head to Seattle out from Vancouver BC on a semi-regular basis. I have a Z28 Convertable, nothing beats it on a road trip with the GF. It flies up hills, mountain passes are a blast... straight roads are fun too especially if theyre empty
As for confort I can drive it for hours straight only to fill up, it gets great milage on the highway. I'm going to do a trip down to vegas this summer hopefully and am really looking forward to the drive. Nothing beats a convertable in the middle of summer with the tunes cranked

LT1 Road Trip

I drove from Detroit to Dallas back in 97. It was awesome. These cars are awesome running through Missouri and Oklahoma. I had a blast, raced a few others along the way. The seats were very comfortable.

Have Fun!

Its just good ol' american cruzin... see some damn corn fields... hit route 66 put the cruz on 55 and just have the satisfaction that theres so much more under the hood... dallas tx - hartford ct... sound a little annoying if you want to have a quiet conversation with your passengers but it never bothered me at all... seat like a mattress shaped into a backwards L tell ya what if i had a hundred bucks in my pocket and a couple days off of work and i saw a f-body with a sign in the rear window "goin for a cruz dont know where i'm stoppin" hell i'd tag along...

If I can beat by car 7 times down the strip in one day(some back to back(bad Jason!)) Then they can handle cruising down the interstate!

Although since my gears I no longer take the Z very far. The longest drive is the drive to the track. Besides, I can take the Golf and drive over 700 miles on one tank!!

From home to Hessel, MI in the upper peninsula, cruise around for the week, drive home and fill up the next morning.
