Which LT-1 intake elbow kit?

My stock intake elbow has split by the clamp going into tb.I have a moroso cai but didn't replace stock elbow when I installed it. I did put airfoil on . I need to replace elbow but thought it would be better to buy one of the aftermarket intake elbow kits. I have seen prices from $ 35 to over $100. Is there really any difference in these. I just can't see spending alot on an elbow? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

97' Z28 CONVERTIBLE- MOROSO CAI, AIR FOIL, KOOKS SS HEADERS, MAGANAFLOW CATBACK, ETC.

Got my aluminum elbow for about $75 on ebay because when I got my car, the $h!tty stock intake gasket was torn all across the top (almost the exact same spot as yours). Pick up one of those and you should never have to worry about it again.

Thanks. Which one did you buy? Meaning there is one by somebody called CRT performance for $35 to one by Vortech for over $100. I have no idea what the difference is in these. Is this another one of those " buying the name things" ?

You got it, guy....honestly I don't remember the name brand of it, but I don't see how buying a more expensive intake elbow is going to be of much benefit. Just get a decent aluminum one and you'll be fine. Good luck with your search.

I have a cast aluminum crt performance elbow. It's nice, but I had to drill a hole for the vacuum line to the opti. If I had to do it all over I'd held out for a 1le elbow. There's a thread about the trickflow elbow that its discussed which is better.

I still don't understand how in the hell so many people get huge tears in their stock rubber intake elbow???? I just sold mine yesterday off of my 1997 Z (in mint condition for being 14 years old) for $30.00! I will never understand.

Mine was like that when I got the car, I would guess dry-rotting but I'm not sure either.

I'm sure the heat and time degrade the rubber. Mine tore right where it slipped over the TB. As a temp fix I wrapped it in duct tape to keep it from sucking air. Which is why I jumped on the cast aluminum elbow. It was right for the price at the time.
