Trick flow elbow for lt1?

Re: Trick flow elbow for lt1?
I picked up a cast aluminum one; but only did it because my stock rubber elbow had a rip in it. It does look nice though and removed the piece that sticks out the bottom. It has to flow better than stock as well, but still more than likely a dress up item unless you are making an enormous amount of power.
Re: Trick flow elbow for lt1?
it's more so for those with the EGR deleted. It removes that big hole behind the MAF and cleans up the mess of stock rubber elbows falling apart/tearing. if you have that long tube extending down from the bottom of the elbow, then it's not for you.
Re: Trick flow elbow for lt1?
The EGR has nothing to do with the intake ducting at all...
Re: Trick flow elbow for lt1?
The loss of power through the heat soak of the elbow is negligable. It's going to get more heat as it goes through the TB, intake, and heads. I've never had my cast aluminum elbow hot to the touch unless the car has been sitting, idling for a few minutes. If I drove it down the road, got it good and hot, and came home and, while still running, checked it; the elbow would be cool to the touch.

Measurable and negligable are two different things is all I'm saying. If you're talking 5 HP loss it is not negligable, if you're talking fractions of a HP then I'd say that is negligible.
Same thing with an air foil, there is measurable improvement, but unless you are makeing tons and tons of horse power it's negligible.
