Angry Rockford RFX9300 head unit having problems!!

I've got a RFX9300 in my 95 Z28 that I bought for around $200 on Ebay. My local dealer wanted $450, so I took a chance and went online. Unfortunately for me, after a couple months of the unit working fine I'm now having problems with sparatic error messages about the Transverse motor (error 6), the disk not ejecting, and the unit cutting the power from one of my amps (running mids/highs). Also, the clock is reset most of the time when these problems occur, probably indicating loss of power to the unit. All this happens off and on,seems to be getting worse, and usually "fixes itself" somehow. Sometime reseting the power fixes the problem. Not sure if the problem is the the unit in general, or just if the guy I bought if from broke it. The dealer that installed the deck thinks that the problem might be a bad processor (?) or possible voltage problems with the electrical system. Have yet to test the battery/alternator, but the car doesn't have trouble starting seems to have least around 13.5 volts on the gauge at idle/cruise/ect. What do you guys think? Want to make sure before sending the unit to Rockford for repair .
