serene,

The guy out here who had his cam in wrong had no problems with his car either. But there was a big problem when it was on the dyno. I'm not saying it's your cam but there has to be something else. Someone else on here mentioned your AF.
I gained 30rwhp on the dyno going from a Ed Wright program to
a local guy and LT1 edit. With Heads, cam and a stroker I can believe 50rwhp from tuning or a combination of things

Right, Ive had previous problems with cam timing and not being installed straight up, the car would barely run, and always want to die. I'm 99.9% positive it is installed right.

You gained 30 rwhp with tuning on just a hot cam kit with no heads?

As far as the dyno #'s go, just make sure that you are comparing my heads and Phils heads with the same cam, mods, tune etc.

example- XE 230/236, mail order tune, bolt ons, etc. I think the original poster had this combo with Phils heads at one time...??? Maybe he can post his #'s.

To the best of my knowledge, I have never had my heads matched with the AI212 cam and dyno tune but I would like to see the #'s as much as the next guy.

Most of us know what kinda HP the cam is worth and how much can be gained/lost from tuning. You will obviously get less HP on a base mail order tune than taking the SAME car to get a DYNO TUNE to try and get improvements over the last DYNO TUNE.

Most people call me and tell me what they want and what budget they have. Some MUST pass emissions, some can NOT afford a stall, and some can not even afford a NEW cam so I spend time and let them know what the best bang for their buck is and basically hopw fast they can afford to go ( and pass emissions if needed). Some people end up with a used cc 305 and ported heads with stock valves, mail order tune, etc and are THRILLED to make 350 RWHP with a mail order tune, thru cats, etc. for about $1000. This $1000 includes their heads, cam, tune, oil, gaskets, antifreeze, etc. This is why some of my customers do not make AWESOME #'s. They are working with what they can afford.

I do have some customers that can afford a NEW XE 230/236, heads with larger valves, 30 lb injectors, bigger TB and a mail ordertune, these people put down better #'s obviously.

VERY few have DYNO tunes and custom cams..........until NOW.

I still help the "budget guys" but I am also getting more customers that want better parts and since I have stumbled into a BAD *** cam grinder that was nice enough to help me out, the DYNO TUNE is hopefully the only thing between my heads and some REPEATED 400-415 RWHP #'s. Only time will tell.

As I mentioned in a previous post, until my heads consistantly make 400-415 RWHP with a DYNO TUNE and a CUSTOM CAM, Phil's heads will be considered above mine. I have 2 of these 400-415 RWHP cars under my belt with mail order tunes and several more waiting to be assembled.

In a month or two, more of these combinations will come together and we will know how close the heads REALLY are, maybe not as close as I think....maybe closer than Phil thinks.

Lloyd

maybe you should care a little less about other people and a little more about fixing your car.

How is it common sense if only one person knows it and doesnt compare with others? You don't make any sense telling me to find problems with my car when I'm not supposed to be looking at other cars. If I can't look at other cars how do I know I have a problem? Damn hypocrite.

maybe if you dont have ANY IDEA of what kind of power to expect from what you are doing to your car then you have the wrong hobby!

your repeated posts show that you already know that there is a problem. jesus, h/c stock shortblock cars are posted all over the internet making over 400rwhp and pulling ot 6500rpm. are you stupid? you need to diagnose the problem, you might want to check the ignition or fuel. hmmm....that might be a start. maybe we should call the waaaaambulance. the head porter/cam grinder can only be responsible for his part of the work, not your faulty install/POS car. hows that for a 'good one'?

So Im wrong to post asking someone who posted in this thread for advice on what he got with tuning and what he ran with his hot cam? Excuse the **** out of me.

I know what power to expect out of the car which is why I think I have a problem. I believe you are caught up in one of your stupid statements. If I'm not supposed to be asking other people what they dynoed, how can I even expect anything? YOu don't make sense.

Yes Lloyd has been good helping me out giving me ideas unlike you two. And waambulance? Are you three years old?

serene i think what you should do is shut up, log off of the computer, get off of your a$$ and find out what is the matter with your car. the only reason people are picking on you is because you have been bad mouthing lloyds heads because your 383 runs like sh*t. and dont try to say that you were not bad mouthing him because your posts are up for everybody to see. and maybe you should have thought about what you were saying before started posting about how you think your heads are you problem when you really dont have a clue what is the matter with your car. its people like you that start bad rumors about peoples work.

and by the way you if you wanted advice maybe you should have just asked for it nicely like most people on this board do instead of just tring to pawn off your motors problems on lloyds heads!
