How many trap 119.5 the first time to the track(on seven cylinders at that)? None. What I'm saying is just have them done right. If I wanted to make 370 or 380 to the wheels, I would have saved even more over Lloyd and done them myself.

If I had a set of LT4's laying around, I would have them ported. But as far as the AFR's, no way, not on a street car with a stock computer. Ask Phil, he can show you the graph, not just tell you what they flow....he can show you where his LT4's bust *** on a set of CNC'd AFR's up to .600 lift.
How do you figure 7 or 8mph more? With you trapping 119, that means your saying lloyds heads are only trapping 111-112. WTF, can you read? Clint just said he trapped 117 with Lloyds heads with an AUTOMATIC. If he had a 6 speed he'd be trapping over 119 easily. He's even running one of Joe's smaller cams. As far as you running on 7 cylinders, sounds like a ricer excuse to me. Get it fixed and get some times. Also how do you figure AI heads are 40-45rwhp more? I'm not sure what you put down, but I bet within the next month or so you'll see a few of Lloyds heads/cam putting down within 10rwhp of you. BTW, what did you dyno? Got a chart?

Russ's Graph as u can see it just has a "slight" problem then

my own car rolled 409rwhp NA with 143k miles on stock bottom end. I have more miles on it now and going to keep making some changes and I will have it back on the dyno soon see if we can pick up a few more hp... gonna be tough with that 9" and 35spline axles

I have had my Ai heads for a while and I was happy when i got them and still happy with them now. altho as time goes on we all want bigger better thing so when i need some work done on heads again I WILL be going back to Ai.

That's what I have heard as well, not from Phil's heads exactly but that the LT4 had more potential than CNC AFR's. Looks like Phil has proved it.

For anyone even considering going AFR for a stock bottom end don't waste your money on them. I did and had to have them ported just to get them to perform and I had purchased the competition port job.

Get your stock heads ported and use the rest of the money that would have been spent on the AFR's as a nice down payment on a 12 bolt or some other mods.

I actually tried to contact Phil when I decided on doing H&C and didn't hear back from him after a few emails but that was about a year and half ago. I think he was just getting started with all of this.

LOL i think when your putting down as much hp as he is and running the times he is. He isn't making "ricer" excuses.

Unfortunately I don't think so...most people are still talking 400-415HP with AI heads, so 45 HP less than that would be 355-370HP, which is pretty close to what people are getting with just a cam...so are you telling me that Lloyds heads are so crappy your only getting 10-20hp out of them?

Has anyone found this calculator http://www.stangbangerz.com/modules....h&file=density to be fairly accurate?

Serene,

Where are you from?
My guess is that something else is wrong like your cam install.
We had a guy who does installs in Phoenix put a cam in a LS1 and when the guy went to the dyno he lost 20rwhp from his previous dyno. After some investigating and tearing the car back down they discovered the cam had been installed a tooth off.
They claimed more than one person witnessed the install but regardless it was done wrong.
My point is something doesn't seem right. There are several people using those heads and seeing decent gains and you have a stroker. It could be in several places. I gained 30rwhp over a Ed Wright program I'd had for 3 years and couldn't figure out what was wrong. I understand the frustration because I was unhappy witht the engine I had purchased for those 3 years
Good luck

Cam is installed correctly. We checked it 3 times. My builder has been building motors for 40 years, he knows whats goin on. If the cam is a tooth off, the car would run way rough and be hard to start.

I put the 30# injectors on there. Is 31.3# the right injector constant to compensate for the increased FP on the lt1s? Since the SVO are rated lower

30's should be fine. After looking at your dyno graph closer you max hp is at 5600 rpms. With the 230/236 shouldn't it peak higher? I think guys with stock heads peak hp is at a higher rpm than yours. I think something other the heads is the problem.

What valve springs are you running?

I think you can't go wrong with either Phil or Llyod. Both do amazing work and are both proven heads. From my vantage point, you can't go wrong either way.

Looking at your graph you posted, still looks like you are running lean. I have seen people pickup some 50hp with fuel and timing. I say get a dyno tune before you start swaping anything else out.

Serene - I have a slightly less aggressive version of your cam with Lloyd's heads and stock bottom and I made 383rwhp/353rwtq. I dont think its the heads, unless they are from his first batch. How long ago were they ported.

Greenbean - apples and oranges... Your comparing your custom cam and heads to others that runs lloyds heads and off the shelf cams. I got some apples for ya... Someone posted their numbers about 4 months ago, they had same cam as me (except they had it on 112LSA like Serene), they had AI heads, and they were running a stroker! The guy only put down 25rwhp than me and I didnt even have a dyno tune yet! Thats right, he had extra cubes and "supposedly" better heads and made 25rwhp more.

You guys keep forgetting that your not comparing similar setups. End of story.
