INTAKE MANIFOLD/gaskets

im puting new gaskets on my intake, is there anything else you guys would do while i have most of this stuff off the motor?

also when i took the throttle boddy off it didn't look like any gasket sealer was used...im wondering if i should put some back on when i go to put it on.

also i have seen people put a intake filter on the valve cover and the left side on the throttle boddy, this better then haveing the air hose attached from thorttle to valve cover? or is it more for looks then anything?

run to your local autoparts place and get this copper spray gasket sealer. they use it for turbo mounting flanges and high boost head gaskets on talon 2.0 turbos mostly. it works wonders. just spray an even coat and stick it down. i use it on all my gaskets

Not necessary on LT1's, the gasket does a fine job.

Uh, while it's all apart? Sure, throw a cam in there Your halfway there :P

Just get a tube of permatex black RTV and make a nice bead on the front and back, you'll be all set.

Re: INTAKE MANIFOLD/gaskets

Like Cjmatt wrote, spray Coppercoat is a good idea for intake gaskets, waterpump gaskets, timing cover gaskets, etc. Sometimes putting them on dry works fine, other times you get to do it twice, and they can't be reused.
