What the LTCC (LT coil conversion) does is remove the high secondary voltage (plug voltage) responsibility from the opti. It does this with 8 LS1 coils. Technically, what you end up with is a L(S)1 ignition conversion for the L(T)1. The opti, (or some replacement) is still needed for the high/low resolution signals. Sooooo, to answer your ?, yes, the basic shortcomings of moisture penetration still exist. However, as stated above, it removes the high voltage responsibility, and this does improve the durability of the opti, along with superior plug voltage.
