How much harder is it to install 10.4mm wires than 8.5mm wires??

I really want to get the Taylor Thunder Volt 10.4mm plug wires with NGK TR55 plugs. I herd that they are a pain in the a## to install. I have a lift to work with though, so I'm not sure how difficult this may be. Any advise, tips, any info at all would be appreciated. Thanx!!!!

Save yourself the cash and get the 8.5 wires. The bigger ones don't make a performance difference

Stock 7mm are enough of a pain. The drivers side is easy, but the passenger side is anything but. Like hozb817 said there's no advantage with the 10.4mm, so I wouldn,t go bigger than 8.5mm.

8.5 wires

i agree it's hard enough to loom 8.5's would not want to try 10.4's that and i dont see a big gain by going to the bigger wire every big cars ive seen from john force down to milt decker(fastest small block in the world) use the msd 8.5

I would say that if you're wanting to run 10.4mm wires, then you'll probably have to go over the valve covers with them.

When I installed my 8.5s, I had a heck of a time getting them into the stock routing behind the power steering pump, so I know 10.4s won't fit right through there anyway.

Good luck with them!

You need headers to use over the valve covers.

I agree, i had the 10.4 wires and i barely got them to go through on the passenger side. I bought headers, the made for you looms to go over the valves and went back to the 8.5 wires. The big wires looked cool but that's about all the difference i saw from them.

I agree with "Spinner". Better for what? I am currently using a stock set of wires and making >800rwhp, so I think they work ok. I think they would be a royal PITA to install.

They would be at least 1.9mm harder to install.

I'm not pullin' 800 ponies like some people , but the stock type wires have been fine for me.
