how do i pull codes

how do i pull codes

my car seems to have a mis and back fired tonight and i want to see if there are any codes being set off, is there any way to check my codes like the older car and the ALDL.

93 was the last year you could flash the codes on the SES light by shorting the pins in the ALDL connector. For 94/95 models, you need an OBD-I compatible scanner. Auto Xray is probably about the cheapest, at $170. Do not buy the $30 Actron, all that does is short the pins, so it won't work. But Actron does make several "real" OBD-I scanners for higher $$$$$.
