Definately go with the CC306 if you plan on furthering your build up after that. Such as heads and whatever else. The only drawback is that it makes power alot higher in the RPMs and you have to rev higher to get the most out of it which does add extra stress.

It's always better to use it than not, IMHO, but with the proper springs you will be OK. i recommend the Crane 10308-1 kit with the 306, it's a great all around kit. Good for .600 lift at 7000 RPM...
If you are going to really get into this modding, dumping $$$ into the car then go big now with the cam. I, like many others, went with the Hot Cam & now wouldn't mind going with something bigger. Maybe a custom grind or 847. However the Hot Cam & 305 will give you some nice times. It is not a Pooosy cam like some people think. My car ran consistant 12.30's @ 110 on stock heads. Now that is nothing to cry about. I even think with a few other tweeks I could have run 11's on stock heads with the Hot Cam. Also I passed emissions with it. However now I have GTP Stage 2 heads on the car & can't run much better with them mated to the Hot Cam. Cam might be too small for the heads. Anyway that is my 2 cents from my expierience.
I too am with the HOT CAM owners that wish I would have went with a bigger cam. It still isn't out fo the question for me. You might want to go bigger first time and only have to buy one cam. I wish I would have.
Well you're gonna have to shift past 6k to make the most of any 3 of these cams. That said, a heavy duty rebuild of that 4L60E is a must if you want it to last for more than 10 passes or so. I still say go with the 306 assuming the bottom end is in good shape if porting the heads is in the near future. For the 306, get some good springs such as the Cranes mentioned by someone above. One other important item would be at least some hardened pushrods with guideplates. I don't know what the hydra rev kit consists of, but should you miss a shift with the 306 or run it hard on a regular basis, some guideplates are good insurance for not bending a pushrod. Also while you're at it, a new timing chain would be a good idea if you have over 100k on the motor.

Thanks for all the feedback but I want to go as long as far as possibly on stock heads N/A. I see alot of poeple on this board in the mid 12s with the stock heads. So I guess the cc306 is out t of the question. From what I hear its a bit much for stock heads and you have to rev to high to get real power. Correct me if I'm wrong
You're going to have to rev past 6K on any of these cams, ans the 306 will make more past there on stock heads, guaranteed. You will need programming with all of them, you will want headers with all of them. Don't buy small, most regret it later. The 306 is perfect for stock or ported heads, it will make more power, period. Plus, when you do save up enough for a good set of ported heads, you won't have to swap your cam out, too. I'd not listen to all these guys who say it's too much for stock heads, they don't have one...
Dunno after reading all that if its gonna be your everyday driver but I just put in motor and went with the HotCam. I'm happy with it so far and to be honest with you its feels a lil more loppy than I wanted it.
The MAIN THING to remember here is your getting good advice from a lot of people regarding the performance of these cams. BUT EVERYONE.....I mean EVERYONE will have different opinions on how a car should sound and feel when driving. Maybe later when I start rippin her at the track I'll want to go bigger but for an everyday car I think the HC is perfect or a lil on the raunchy side. (MAYBE CAUSE I GOT STRAIGHT PIPES).
Not to mention if you do some searches on the HotCam, you will see a lot of surprises on the "Good Ole Hotcam".

After beefing up the drivetrain this winter with tranny, 3500 stall, and 3.73s, I am hoping to flirt with 11s. Should be at least good for low 12s.
