Hot Cam Kit VS CC305 or 306

If the cc305 or 306 were matched with everything the Hot Cam Kit comes. What would put out more power on stock heads???

The 306 would make the most power. The 305 and Hot Cam are essentially the same.

if guys are running cc306 cams WITH STOCK HEADS and are getting good results, your hot cam is like a stock cam compared to the cc306

I'm running a CC305 with ported heads. My best times are a 12.0 @ 112 MPH with a stock 95,000 mile bottom end, in a '93 Z with no weight reduction, except the front sway bar.

from what i understand the cc306 makes power REAL high up in the power band, not so sure but thats probly what im going with on my winter project.. Heads and cam seems like the cc306 is a good choice. The Hotcam is more agressive then the stocker and the c305 is more agressive then the hotcam and so on. The diference in the HC and the 305 is probly the smallest and the difference in the 05 to the 06 is pretty big from what im told. If you have future plans of doing your heads and stuff i say just go with the cc306 and be done with it

306 is the limit for your stock heads... (probably a tad bit over too, but nothing much that it'll blow up ur engine lol) but it might be too much lift for your other internals (thats why u should get a whole kit :P)

for me i'll be getting the 306, because about a year after that i'll have my ported heads

but if i wasnt gunna get my heads ported, than i would have gone with hotcam

...And how fast are you running N/A? 'Cause my "poosy cam" runs 12.0.

im talking about stock heads..so i think a 306 is too aggressive so how much hp do you think i would see with a hotcam...everyday driver here.

If you have to pass emissions, the Hot Cam or 305 cam will be very similar and probably pass emissions tests with good tuning. Both can be ran with ANY gear, stall, vehicle weight, etc.

The 306 will pull to a higher RPM and make a lil less power and TQ below 2500 RPM. 6 speed, a stall and or more gear will make this cam work better.

An A4, stock converter, stock gears, full weight car will probably accelerate better with one of the smaller cams.

Not one cam that works best for everyone. Any of the 3 will make a good HP increase over a stock cam.

I like my 306...Sure does sound good...I'd go big, becuase 95% of the time when I do a mod, and I go small, I get used to it and wished I'd gone bigger. Like sticking with stock stroke, I did that becuase I thought it would get better engine life with less stress on the components, but now I wished I'd gone to a laonger stroke and made a bigger engine, like a ~388 or ~401 instead of my lil' 361. But that's me...The Hotcam is still a nice cam, it isn't a "baby" cam, but it does make nice respectable power numbers, same thing applies to the 305.
