As long as you do regular maintenance it will last a very long time. Im at 97000 on mine and Im going to be dumping more money into performance not broken ****. only problems ive had is opti and a couple transmissions. My dads friend rolled over 1 MILLION miles on his ford station wagon a while back on the origional motor with no rebuilds. My freinds 87 camaro just got 185,000. Camrys are junk, I was in my friends 97 camry 2 weeks ago and the son of b*tch got an electrical fire out of no where and filled the car with smoke and burnt out the stereo, speakers and car alarm. Its completely stock with no aftermarket speakers or anything so its something toyota did. I see just as many broken down foreign cars as american so there is no reason to say american cars arnt any good, its all bs.

163,000 miles on mine and not a drop or drip of oil anywhere. Changed Opti once, normal maintenance. Mobil 1 Synthetic since about 50,000 miles. Clutch needs to be changed, but other then that no problems.

106,000 and it runs strong as hell, compression is good as well as everything else. Every time I floor it it knocks me in my seat and it accelerates smoothly until I take my foot off the gas. I beat the **** out of it and it just keeps asking for more. I agree with everyone else about keeping up with it; all the maintainance pays off. I'm doing heads and cam next month and there are no worries. Long live the LT1!!!!!!!!!

There is some guy that put 1,000,000 miles on a honda or a toyota, so they gave him a new one as a prize, the he did it again and got another one. I have never seen that on an american car. But don't worry, I am not sticking up for them, I'm just saying they are still reliable.

Talking

I know a guy with a 94z-28 with over 220,000 and still lays down mid 13's with just gears and exhaust. The engine's never been touched and he's only been through 2 clutches. My '91 Silverado 4x4 had 250,000 before I traded it for my Camaro. The engine was untouched, it was on it's third transmission, but it could haul some remarkable butt for a full-size truck, and it was also an abused oil field truck when I got it a 220,000. I also heard some guy got 1 million miles on a silverado with original engine and transmission. He delivered newspapers or something and drove a couple thousand miles a day. He always ran mobile 1 synthetic and he had to change his oil everyday. I think I saw it in the newspaper a while back. All I know is I've seen a lot of domestics with high miles running stronger than most imports new, just my .02.

Cool

My wifes 96 Camary=at 90,000,new motor mount
at 95000,needed new idle control valve $450.00
At 97,000,new(rebuilt drive axle,pass side)
At 98,000,new axle boot(drivers side)dealer tried to stick me with a new axle, but found a mechanic who could just replace the boot.
Next door neighbor-97 toyoto 4-runner,new water pump.with 79,000 mi.on it.
Neighbor across the street, just bought a certified Lexus(2000)with 49,000 mi on it.When it rained a couple of months ago,the rain leaked into the front windshied, down onto the computer and killed all the wireing and the computer.(warranty paid for this)
We got a recall for the Camary, seems the steering wheel MAY come off while driving, but they will fix it free.Great,Iget to tie up the car for a day or two for this.
I've got about 105,000 on my bird, and it still runs strong.
To BAD1LEz==Are you using the oil plug gasket with the rubber thing in the center of it?$2.00 at the dealer.
To Ryan94transam===Is the oil leaking from the intake area, sometimes this looks like it's comming from the pan,or?Before I had my intake oil leak fixed,I had oil smoke blow out on every start up.This went away with the intake oil leak fix.
To KIDZERO===Might check the (main hoses of course),but also check those little hoses going to and comming from the throttle body for leaks, also tighted up the hose screws and see if that helps.
MY car starts every morning with 1/2 second turn of the key.
Hope this helps.

My Z has 125K right now and I am about to do either a hotcam or xe cam kit along with some head work. At about 155K it went 13.6 with horrid 2.20 60 ft time and trapped 104.5. It was running as strong as ever until the head gasket let go which is why all the work now. Oh that 125K that was about 14 months ago as I hit a rough financial time and I am just now getting back on my feet to get my baby running agian. But hopefull I will dip into the 12's with 130K. The most I have done is a water pump and regular man. I have only had ot replace the brakes once. I have a set ready to go on when it hits the street agian but this is been a GREAT car for me. I will get a lot more life out of it I am sure.

My car dynoed at 275 rwhp and ran a 13.3 with 100k miles on, and it always seems to feel just as faster the more miles I put on it, I have 103,000 now, just take care of it.

i think i have the record for an lt1 fbody so far. 230,000 and still going strong. i also beat the hell out of mine about every day. i have broke 6 clutches and one rear end. with the stock 3.23's, cai, and flowmaster catback it went 8.90 @ 80.5 with 2.02 60ft. now it has 4.10's but cant get traction on street tires.

i know its quicker with the 410's cause it made a couple car difference between me and a local mustang. just cant put it down to the ground.

im also getting ready to do the xe 230/236, some headers , and some head work just to see how much it will handle.

My buddy had 167,000 before his 93 was wrecked. Car was amazing...looked great, ran great...I think it got a new waterpump, Opti, and plenty of Starters. Ran hard up until the day the Tree took its life.

Im at 114K Of course when she dies..a 383 Will be taking its place. Muahahahaha.. Death the the LT1.. any time now. Of course at this point.. I dunno.. No smoke, runs great.

My car has 178,000 Miles on her, and she gets some HARD *** miles w/ me drivin, and its still easily in the 13's Things i've replaced in the last 10K miles:

Oil/filter every 2K
Fuel Filter
Transmission Fluid/filter
Plugs/wires
Thats it

I'm planning on doing a hotcam kit over the winter... If she doesn't last, 355 time I used to be concerned with how many miles were on it and be embarassed about it, not I just think its funny as hell the suckers lasting this long and keep piling them on.

Btw, The car I drove in drivers training was a 95 camaro v6 (actually what got me into camaros, heh) and it had.... get this.. 415,000 miles on it! That ****er was creaking and groaning and makin all kinds of crazy noises but it was still movin right along. I'd imagine being a drivers training car these were mostly city miles too...

125,xxx here. Just put the hotcam kit in about 5,000 miles ago and she'll spin 6800 when I want her to with no prob. Stock water pump and opti. I think they run better when they are abused.
