high idle

Hello all,

So let me catch you up to speed, my water pump went so i put an electric one in.....Now so some reason my car idles high, like between 1500-2000! Now i think i might know what the problem is but i want clarification. My throttle body bolts are not long enough cause of the nitrous plate in between the intake and the throttle body and it seems like the top and bottom bolts on the driver side are striped and i cant get them tight. Would that cause my high idle? Or is it a sensor?

Thanks for your help

High idle is caused by too much air getting past the throttle body. If you have a loose connection between the throttle body/nitrous plate/intake manifold you have a vacuum leak. Is it possible the nitrous plate is interfering with the blades closing?

Yes, that can cause high idle along w/ any vacuum leak your motor might have.
