Having problems with my setup

I have a 95 lt1 camaro with a t56
383 forged
le1 cam
le2 heads
30lbs injecotrs
shorty headers bbk
k&n air filter
58mm tb
slp loudmouth
madz28 tune
Im disapointed in the performance of this car. Ive spent too much money on this setup to be running a best of 13.5 at 105 with a 2.2. The traps are what get me, i know i can improve my 60 foot times but my trap speed i feel is really lacking. the cam was built to specs of a 350 by le. Is this a case of mis-matched parts or is there seriously wrong with my car. I got my tune done by madz28 and the afr are pretty decent at 12.1 to 12.5 at Wot. Please help me im thinking it a case of mis-matched parts with my cam being too small for my engine set up. please help me pick a cam include specs for my set-up any advise is appreciated.

Re: Having problems with my setup

I doubt it's the cam and suspect there is something wrong in the way the car has been set up/assembled or there is a mechanical malfunction. Way too many variables and not enough info to even guess what it is. But the cam is the last place I'd look. A chassis dyno can be useful in this kind of troubleshooting if the person running it is sufficiently knowledgable.

Again, the are many possible reasons for poor performance, but common areas that are often overlooked in the serach for esoteric reasons are bad wires or plugs and excessive knock retard. I realy hate trying to troubleshoot without information though.

This belongs in LT1 Tech, BTW.

Do you have a scanning tool? I would scan tha car for knock retard. Also like Rich said put it on a dyno and see what it's actually doing. How do you know what the AFR is? If it already has been on a dyno what are the numbers?
