guage question
HELLO everyone, was wondering if anyone had ever installed a oil temperture and cylinder guage in there engine. What area would be the best place for it and how hard is it to install. I live in the sunny state of Florida and it gets really hot out here during the summer months. My engine is a 93lt-1 with some mod's to the engine ex: milled and ported heads, hot cam, hypertech chip, trick flow elbow, cai, march under pulley,1.6 rr's, 3" flowmaster exhaust soon to come will be longtubes headers, and a 58mm t.b.. So as you can see I need to monitor the heat perimeter it is also a daily driven car as well. Do anyone know of a website that shows with pictures how and best place for installing them. P.S. where can i find reasonable prices with probes and sending unit. EVERYONES comments would be truly appreciated. again thank you.
I have the sender for my electrical oil temp gauge drilled and tapped into the oil drain plug. Autometer packages the gauge with the sensor. Summit, JEG's, the CamaroZ28.com supporting vendors, etc. sell them. They also have head temp gauges with a 1/8" NPT sender, but I've never tried installing one.
